World of Snacks is on a mission to locate the best cookies, cakes, chocolates, candies, and gummies in the world. Why are we searching for junk food? Of course we love it and we hope offer these foreign snacks for sale online. So far our international snack store offers the best treats from 6 countries. One of the featured countries is Germany and the snack under review todayis one we’ve recently added to our selection of German snacks. We are reviewing Milka Raspberry cookies! If you are a snack historian or love Milka like we do you may know that this confectionery brand was originally created by a Swiss Chocolatier. For a while it was a German company, now it’s owned by a snack conglomerate that started in the United States. In addition to this, Milka is sold throughout Europe. So for now we will classify this snack brand as German, but in the future will offer their snacks for sale in multiple countries sections. Let’s take a closer look at this particular snack, the Milka Choco Dessert Raspberry cookies. Our sample of these Milka cookiea comes in trademark purple package and weighs in at 5.2oz, which we think is the perfect amount. Not too much, not too little! Of course the Milka logo and their well-known purple cow are located on the top left corner. On the right, images that make you want to rip the re-sealable package right open. They include two cookies, a handful of raspberries, a piece Milka of chocolate, and a large swirl of chocolate. But unless someone is reading this to you, you can see that for yourself! Onto the taste test. To be honest we didn’t know Milka made cookies until recently. We’ve reviewed many of their other chocolate snacks and when we found out there were Milka cookies we were ecstatic. So needless to say we had our hopes set high. So how do Milka Raspberry cookies tastes? We were not disappointed. The cookie is soft and cake-like, the chocolate is for sure Milka brand chocolate, and then - there is jelly. We did like the jelly, but it wasn’t what we thought it would be. I personally imaged a soft and slightly sweet fruit filling. However, it’s a very sweet gelatin. It’s firm and potent. It did catch us off guard a little, but in the end it takes the cookie from good to great. Are you hungry? You’re are in luck. We offer the Milka Choco Dessert Raspberry Cookies and a similar orange flavor for sale here in the US with shipping around the world. If you love snacks like we do be sure to leave your details on the right so we can keep you posted on our progress as we explore new countries and their cookies, cakes, chocolates, candies, and gummies. As always, keep on snacking world!

At World of Snacks we dedicate a serious amount of time to locate the very best international snacks. We then select the best of the best and offer them for sale in our international snack store hosted here in the United States with shipping to virtually everywhere. Each month in 2014 we will expand our inventory by one country and include their best cookies, cakes, chips, and candies. One of the added countries just a few months back was Germany. Tonight we are going to take a closer look at our favorite German Chocolate Bar; we are doing a review of the Milka Oreo. Milka is and has been a much-loved European chocolatier since 1901. Originating in Switzerland and then moving to Germany and later Austria, this leading chocolate brand is now owned by Modelez International, which was up until recent years called Kraft. As if that wasn’t confusing enough, Milka is currently manufactured in Germany, Austria, Serbia, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Romani, Brazil, Poland, Ukraine, and a couple of other countries. We have decided to dub it a German brand because that is where the company’s famed originated and lasted the longest. Milka produces a variety of confectionery items and their chocolate Milka bar comes in an array of flavors including the one under review tonight, the Milka Oreo Chocolate. Let’s take a closer look. Our sample of the Milka Oreo Chocolate Bar is rather large and weights in at 100 grams. This is much larger than a typical American Chocolate Bar but we are very aware that Milka comes in several larger versions than this. The packaging is their trademark purple, has their mascot the purple cow, and has a photo of two chocolate pieces and an Oreo cookie with s splash of milk. Overall we rather enjoy the presentation of this snack. Let’s see if we will enjoy how it tastes! To be honest we have been dying to try this German chocolate bar. We imported a few cases directly from Germany and have sold most of them. We had to move this review up the list before we sold out. A side note, the US version of Milka (found in select stores) is not at all the same and is nowhere the same quality. If you take your chocolate seriously do not make the mistake of confusing the two. Now that is out of the way, the Milka Oreo Chocolate Bar is phenomenal! The outer shell chocolate is soft, sweet, and decadent. The interior is powerful, creamy, and provides that trademark Oreo cookie crunch. Combined they make one of our favorite chocolate bars from anywhere in the world! Now that we’ve officially endorsed the Milka Oreo Chocolate Bar we advise you hurry and purchase one of your own. We carry several versions of both the American and German Milka Bars in our international snack store and encourage you to browse our full selection of German Chocolate Bars. If you’d like to be notified as we expand our online candy store we advise you to leave your details to the right, or if you are on a smart phone below. Keep on snacking world! Our international snack blog is back in action and heading to Switzerland. Last time World of Snacks reviewed a Swiss snack we took a look at the Milka Choco-Swing, and we loved it! Will our chocolate candy bar under review tonight compare? You’ll have to read on to find out. This Swiss snacks is made by the luxury chocolatier Lindt. This confectionary company got it start way back in 1845 when David Sprungli -Schwarz and his innovative son, Rudolf Sprungli-Ammann, literally reinvented the way chocolate was manufactured. Fast-forward many years to the present and they are now an industry in their segment. In addition to Lindt, this company also own Ghirardelli. Until today, I would have thought they were rivals. Both brands produce outstanding chocolate. Lindt is available in most major countries across the world. Our Swiss snack however, is not in most international markets. Lets take a look at Lindt Hello Strawberry Cheesecake Stick. Our goal is to locate the best snacks anywhere so we can eventually offer them for sale in our international snack store. Our search has taken us everywhere you can imagine. Well, that is except for Target, a major US retail chain. Since many of our customers will be expats living in the US, we have tried to avoid over-the-counter snacks. The Lindt Strawberry Cheesecake Stick is worth the exception. In the US, this Swiss Candy Bar is exclusively available at Target, and they won’t ship out of the country. That means, there may be a demand. And after our taste test of this Strawberry Cheesecake Stick, there should be a demand for this snacks outside of the US
Will World of Snacks offer Lindt Hello Strawberry Cheesecake Chocolate Sticks available for purchase and shipped around the world? Chances are this will make the cut for our normal Swiss inventory. Our international snacks store launches at the first of the year. We will start with snacks from England and add a new country every month. If you’d like to see Swiss Snacks included in our inventory head over and vote. We are letting our readers decide which countries we will feature first. Be sure to leave your details to the right for updates on our progress. Our international snacks blog is authored byRichard Olivarez. Please contact for article suggestions. With our international snack blog we are searching the world for the very best snacks and providing reviews as well as locating inventory in preparation for the launch of our web-based global snack store. Part of our review process is determining the origination of the snack and most of the time it's pretty straight forward. On rare occasions some international snack brands make it slightly difficult to categorize it's country. Our snack for review today is one such case. So today our global snack blog heads to Switzerland, Austria, and/or Poland to review Milka Choco-Swing Cookies by Kraft. This is not the first time we have reviewed a snack offered by Kraft through their Milka label. Previously we reviewed Milka Milkinis Chocolate Bars. During our homework session researching that particular snack (manufactured in Poland) we determined that the creator was Swiss Chocolatier who was born in Germany. So from our introduction the Milka brand was all ready pretty international. To make things even more complicated the Milka Choco-Swing Cookies we are looking at now are made in Austria and ultimately the brand is owned by the world wide conglomerate, Kraft. So we are going to ballpark this snack as being from Switzerland and if anyone can prove otherwise, we'd love to hear from you! Now let's get onto the important stuff, the review of cookies, or as they are labeled, the Milka Choco-Swing Alpine Milk Chocolate & Biscuit. Another key feature of our international snack reviews is the presentation and packaging. Even though we do include detailed photos we generally like to paint a picture of the experience. With this snack we are so eager to share the taste test that we are going to skip the wrapper and jump right in!
Will World of Snack include Milka Choco-Swing Alpine Milk Chocolate & Biscuits when we launch or snack store later this year? This snack, no matter it's origin will absolutely be included as a part of our normal inventory! If you haven't already be sure to enter your email to the right so we can notify you of our launch and also send you a special coupon. We hope you will get to sample this snack and many others for yourself before the end of the year!
Not all international snacks are rare or unheard of, and one prime example is a fine candy bar from Switzerland known as Toblerone. In our last Swiss snack review we took a look at the very delicious Milka Milkinis, a candy bar not available in the US or most major international snack markets. This week our global snack blog is looking at a candy bar from Switzerland that is nearly a household name.
Toblerone dates back all the way to 1868 when Jean Tobler opened is own candy shop in Bern, Switzerland. Here he produced confectionary items from products supplied by other manufactures. Theodor Tobler and his cousin Emil Baumann eventually designed a milk chocolate bar that included nougat, honey, and almonds as well as a unique triangular shape. As you may have guessed this eventually became the Toblerone candy bar. Like many of our other international snacks this treat was eventually purchased by it's current owner, the Kraft Company. If you've ever had a chance to view this swiss candy bar in person, chances are you remember it's unique shape and high-end packaging. Toblerone is the only triangle shaped candy bar World of Snacks has had the opportunity to review. The shape provides an elegant touch of sophistication that is accented but it's refined cardboard packaging. Now on to the Toblerone taste test! If you've never had the pleasure of sampling a Kraft Toblerone you are truly missing out. The milk chocolate is smooth and velvety with a potent honey undertone, the nougat adds a little texture variation and sticky goodness, and the shape, well the shape makes it what it is. This is not a Snickers, this is a true upscale delicacy that needs to be savored! Prior to starting World of Snacks we actually had Toblerone in our fridge, and often paired it with a nice bottle of wine. Kids love it too, so it's a favorite treat in our household. Will World of Snacks offer the Toblerone Swiss Milk Chocolate Candy bar when we launch our international snack store? We'd like to, but further research is needed. We know that this foreign candy bar is available in many stateside grocers and candy stores. If Toblerone is harder to find in other international regions, then it may work it's way into our normally stocked inventory. If you'd like to stay up to date with our progress towards the launch of our web-based snack shop we invite you to register to the right and leave you contact information. We'll be sure to send you a coupon once we are open for business! We are not 100% sure where they are from but we do know how they look and more importantly how they taste! Last time World of Snacks visited a top selling snack from Poland we took an in-depth look at the very delicious Prince Polo by Kraft. This time we are reviewing Milka Milkinis which is also now owned by Kraft as well. Although this chocolate bar currently is manufactured in Poland got it start from Philippe Suchard in 1901 who is considered a Swiss chocolatier, and when it comes to chocolate that is a fine distinction. Suchard opened his first factory in Germany and his company Milka was considered a German confectionery producer. After his initial success Milka became a major player in Switzerland making the categorizing of this snack product difficult. To add to the confusion Kraft International purchased the company in the early 90s and the Milka Milkinis are it’s best selling candy bar through out Europe.
Although we are not 100% sure where they are from we do know how they look and more importantly how they taste! Our snack sample is a slim box containing a total of 8 chocolate bars. A playful cartoon cow that happens to be purple, or lilac to be exact graces the box. Each bar is individually wrapped in a crisp foil and consist of four sections with the friendly cow in place on each piece. They are pleasant to look at and appear to be made to appeal to children, although the packaging in the US would seem more on the upscale end. Sure they look good, but how do Milka Milkinis taste? The bars are a sweet milk chocolate with a creamy milky filling. They are 51% sugar so they are much sweeter than typical chocolate bars out of Germany or Switzerland. The chocolate is soft and light colored and the milk center is bright white and moist. They strongly resemble one of my personal favorites, the Kinder bar from Germany. If not being so familiar with Kinder I am sure I would have been through the roof about this snack. However, being a fan of Kinder I appreciated the Milkinis but preferred my trusted favorite. Overall our panel all enjoyed the snack and our 10 year old Director of Taste proclaimed this is among his favorite candy bars from around the world. Will you be able to purchased Milka Milkinis chocolate bars online from World of Snacks? Providing we do not consider these a German snack we hope to offer Milkinis as a part of our normally stocked inventory. A little more research is needed and if they do fall under a German favorite we may decide not to stock the snack being it is so close to Kinder. We will make a final decision prior to the end of the year when we anticipate the launch of our international snack store. |
