It’s day 2 of our 31 days of British Snack Reviews. Yesterday we took a close look at the Nestle Walnut Whip. Today our international snack blog is reviewing Fry’s Peppermint Cream Dark Chocolate Bar. If you’ve been following along you know we are reviewing snacks from England that will be offered for sale in our international snack store that is set to launch on January 1st. We are currently reviewing all the British Snacks that will be offered for sale online. Next month we will feature another country and their snacks with a new country featured and added to our inventory every month in 2014. Now let’s take a look at Fry’s Peppermint Cream. This British Chocolate Bar comes in a minty green foil wrapper and reads: "Fry’s Peppermint Cream Rich Dark Chocolate with a Smooth Fondant Centre." The imagery makes us think this bar is aimed towards the adult snack market and appears fairly luxurious. Fry’s Candy Bars are one of the 1st candy bars ever and were initially offered in 1866. Although the bar is still branded Fry’s it is currently produced by British Snack Brand Cadbury. Now on to the taste test!
More importantly, you will be able to buy Fry’s Peppermint Cream online in only 29 days! Be sure to check back tomorrow as we review another British Snack that will be offered in our international snack store. To stay up-to-date with our additions to our snack store be sure to leave your details to the right. 01/01/2014 UPDATE: Fry's Peppermint Cream is now available for purchase online in our international store.

Today is day one of our daily-posted month long review of British Snacks that will be offered for sale online in our international snack store. Previous to these most recent posts on our snack blog, we have been searching the world for the very best snacks in hopes to locate our inventory. Now that we have found snacks from England that will be sold here in the US and shipped worldwide, we are shifting gears and will be reviewing treats that you will be able to actually buy staring January 1st. The first British Snack review is the Nestle Walnut Whip.
Well after opening the package and seeing our sample has been smashed up a bit, it appears that we will be offering the Nestle Walnut Whip Vanilla. Well, that is what we think anyway. The chocolate is thick and the creamy filling is stark white. On top of this chocolate snack from England rest a whole walnut. The reason we are not 100% sure on the flavor is the white center is not overtly vanilla. The center of our Walnut Whip is more of a true cream but that may be by design. The chocolate itself is firm and very sweet. The outer shell reminded one of our testers of a chocolate bunny that you can buy around Easter. The walnut was a nice touch and even though I am not personally a fan of walnuts I did appreciate what it brought to the snack. Overall the Nestle Walnut Whip Vanilla (?) is a pleasant treat that is unmatched in the United States. Typically we end our snack review with a decision if World of Snacks will offer the reviewed snack as a part of our normal inventory when our online store launches. Well since we started that way that will not be necessary. We will conclude with yes you will be able to buy the Nestle Walnut Whip online in the very near future, 30 days to be exact! Be sure to check back tomorrow as we review our next British Snack. Don’t worry; we are also still searching for our inventory from other countries. Each month in 2014 World of Snacks will add a new country and their snacks to our store. Please contact for article suggestions. For nearly a year now World of Snacks has explored candy, chips, and cakes from all across the globe. Our international snack blog has documented our journey. Although our site is currently just a blog, starting in 2014 it will transaction into an online snack store that will ship all around the world. Our initial reason to get into the snack business was to connect with snacks from England, where I spent much of my childhood. English snacks will be the first stocked items with many more countries quickly following. Our snack review today is of an English Snack that is manufactured in France. Let’s get on with our review and see if it will make the cut. The loved Cadbury Brand produces our French/English Snack, which is a subsidiary of Mondelez International. Cadbury is British candy company and is the second largest confectionery manufacture in the world. Cadbury has been around for a while, well since 1824 and is the creator of many loved snacks including the Dairy Milk, one of England’s best selling candy bars. Our snack under review is not the Dairy Milk, but it is another candy bar offered by Cadbury. Let’s take a look at the Cadbury Bournville Classic Dark Chocolate.
Will World of Snacks offer the Cadbury Bournville as a part of our normal inventory when we launch our international snack store at the first of next year? The answer is maybe. In preparation for our launch we have already placed our orders with our English suppliers. So far we have a mix of 16 English snacks en route and the Bournville is not currently one of them. With that being said we are still searching for another 4 snacks from England and this treat may make the cut. If you’d like to see this candy bar offered for sale worldwide please be sure to comment below. Our international snacks blog is authored by Richard Olivarez. Please contact for article suggestions. World of Snacks is searching high and low for the very best snacks found anywhere in the world and we are highlighting our discoveries on our international snack blog. Later this year we will launch our online snack store and plan to offer many of these featured items available for purchase with shipping in the US and across the globe. We initially thought this chocolate treat was from Poland since it’s manufactured there, however our research has led us to classify this confectionery item as English, where the company originated. Being much of my childhood was spent abroad in England I didn’t find it hard to believe this was not a Polish snack, it was one of my favorites as a kid!
The presentation of Terry’s Chocolate Orange definitely adds to the charm of this high-end treat. It comes is a shinny blue box with gold letters. The snack itself is the size of an orange and comes wrapped in gold foil. Upon unwrapping this chocolate orange you can tap it in the center and it splits into 20 individual orange wedges! We know it looks good, but how does Terry’s Chocolate Orange taste? Although this snack from England was one I enjoyed as a child, it has been a long time since I’ve indulged in one. To be honest, I wasn’t 100% sure what to expect, well other than chocolate and orange. After the first bite, my original experience with Terry’s came back vividly. The snack is fun to eat and consists of firm almost crunchy chocolate that is blended with orange oil. The orange flavor is smooth and not acidic like a real orange. The flavor compliments the chocolate but does not overwhelm the taste buds. All tasters really enjoyed this British candy although my preferences have changed over the years. I was happy to indulge on this decadent treat but I would say it’s no longer my favorite. I think sampling snacks from around the world has led to an increased pallet for snacks. I found the chocolate a hair waxy like a US candy bar and the sugar content to be a little too high. That being said, I’m just being picky. Terry’s Chocolate Orange is a fantastic international snack! Will World of Snacks offer Terry’s Chocolate Orange as a part of our normal inventory when our snack store launches? All signs say yes, so if you are searching for this unique British snack you will be able to order here soon! If you’d like to be notified when our store opens be sure to leave your details to the right. 1/01/20014 UPDATE: Alan from the UK notified us that we actually reviewed the US version of this snack. We did import it from the UK but sometimes we still get items made for the US market. We will be sure to review the true snack from England in the near future. - WorldofSnacks Our vision for World of Snacks came about because of several factors. The first was my personal love of snacks from England. The other factors included the desire to search out unusual and foreign snacks, develop an international business to educate my 10 year old son, learn more about the diverse cultures of the world through food, and of course to eventually make more money! So far we are doing all of the above, except the money portion, but that is OK. Later this year we will bring it all together when we launch our international snack store that will supply the entire world with the very best snacks from everywhere. Now back to the first factor, my personal love of snacks from England. Our international snack review is for the Hill Orange Cream Biscuits. Hill is a very old privately held company from England that initial started in 1855. This snack company's founders John & Sarah Hill started their business in Dukinfied when they decided to create a bakery to compliment their general grocery store. Things took off pretty fast from there.
Will World of Snacks include Hill Orange Cream Biscuits as a part of our normal inventory when our foreign snack store launches? This snacks is for sure going to be offered for sale in the US and all around the world. If you'd like a personal invite to the launch of our online store be sure to leave your details to the right. Keep on snacking! Welcome to our international snack blog. Generally I create the blogs myself but our 10 year old Director of Taste headed up this one on his own. I followed up with him and helped create the snack article but on occasion he will be the solo writer of a few snack reviews in the near future. A child's perspective on treats is equally, if not more important than an adult connoisseur of international snacks. I hope you agree. Enjoy! Today World of Snacks is taking a trip and once again stoping at the little island nation known as England. Last time we visited England we sampled Jamie Dodgers Original Biscuits, and today we are going to try the one and only, Curly Wurly by Cadbury. This English snack is a funny little snack, as it is an edible ladder of rich chocolate and chewy caramel, a perfect combination of snack components. This tasty treat we are currently reviewing for our international snack blog is made by the well known company, Cadbury. Initially Cadbury was started when a guy named John Cadbury who in 1824 decided he would like to open a grocer's shop in Birmingham, UK. Later this initial candy shop grew and grew to become the famous Cadbury confectionary brand. One of the most popular treats of the company is the Cadbury Dairy Milk, which of course we will be reviewing in the future. Now lets take a look at the Cadbury Curly Wurly.
Will World of Snacks carry the Curly Wurly by Cadbury? Being we already have a very strong English following chances are this delicious treat will make the cut to be included in our normal inventory.
I hope you enjoyed my first blog, I did this one with my father's help but hope to become a solo contributor in the near future. If you'd like to follow along with our progress and get a notification of the launch of our store be sure to submit your info to the right.
