We created World of Snacks and our International Snack blog over a year ago. Our goal for developing this business was to be able to sample snacks from our diverse childhoods, explore unique flavors and treats, and make them available for purchase all across the world. One of the treats that inspired us to go into the snack business was the Kinder Surprise, from what we though was from Germany. So this week our international snack blog is in Germany? The reason we ended the previous statement with a question mark is Kinder, although German for children, is not from Germany. Today the Italian luxury snack group, Ferrero, owns Kinder. So we are actually reviewing an Italian snack! Why did we mention we sought out the Kinder Surprise? Because this tasty childhood treat we desire is actually banned form the USA! Something about putting small toys inside a chocolate candy is a little dangerous, well according to the FDA anyway. So trying to fill the void that the Kinder Surprise Egg has left with us we have been sampling anything we can get our hands on with a Kinder logo. Late last year we took a look at Kinder Friends. Today, the Kinder Happy Hippo Biscuits are going under review.
So before we give our review of this Kinder cookie, let’s recap a little of what we have sampled over the last 13 months. We will keep it short. We have sampled many, many, many snacks from a total of 30 countries. We wanted to start our review of the Kinder Happy Hippo Biscuits with a little bit of our background so the next statement is taken seriously. The Kinder Happy Hippo Biscuits are by far, the best snack we have tasted from anywhere in the world! We enjoyed this treat so much that all testers involved were actually smiling will consuming the biscuit. The crispy wafer biscuit taste like a sugar cone that would generally hold soft serve ice cream. It provides a firm, hollow crunch that is very pleasant. Inside, two of the finest tasting cream fillings we have encountered. One is milk and the other cocoa. The meringue undercoating adds a subtle flavor and holds the additional fragments of chocolate on the exterior. All the independent ingredients come together to create a snack that is truly special. Will World of Snacks offer Kinder Happy Hippo Biscuits for sale online in our international snack store? Yes! We can’t wait until our inventory is expanded to include all legal Kinder products. When we will sell snacks from Italy or Germany? Help us decide now by voting for your favorite. Also, currently we offer both British Snacks and American Snacks for sale. Each month this year we will expand to include a new country. We’d love to know what snacks you think we should carry. Leave your details to the right and we will keep you up to date. Keep on snacking world!

World of Snacks is on a mission to locate the best snacks in the world and offer them for sale internationally. This month we opened our international snack store with British Snacks. Each month this year we will expand our offerings by one new country a month. In February we will start selling the best American Snacks online and ship them to England, Australia, and the rest of the world! Typically our blog has been dedicated to foreign and exotic snacks. Well, in some countries our American snacks are considered foreign! So let’s take a look at a much loved American snack, the Kellogg’s Pop Tarts. Kellogg’s Pop Tarts are an American breakfast snack that is a pre-baked toaster pastry. Made of two thin layers of pastry crust, filled with a sugary flavoring, and then frosted, this snack is Kellogg’s best seller. Being Pop Tarts are pre-cooked and sealed in a foil pack, they do not require refrigeration and are easy to store and transport. In addition to being ready to eat, they are often heated in a toaster to crisp the pastry and warm up the sweet filling. Kellogg’s offers a large selection of Pop Tarts and features the “normal” frosted flavors, unfrosted, limited editions, and printed versions. Although we are more excited to review some of the unique and unusual flavors we have decided with a basic staple. Let’s take a look at the American Strawberry Pop Tarts by Kellogg’s.
Our taste test took place in the morning, at breakfast. This snack is enjoyed at all hours, but most often American Pop Tarts are a replacement or a compliment to cereal. All of the testers involved have previously sampled one of the many flavors produced by Kellogg’s. Oddly enough, two of the three testers have never had a toasted Pop Tarts. I personally believe this is the best way to enjoy them. We sampled the American Strawberry Pop Tarts after toasting them. Everyone enjoyed this breakfast treat. The two testers who have previously only consumed them directly from the package both agreed that toasting them does improve the flavor. It adds a crunch, makes the center warm and gooey, and it heightens the intensity of all the flavors. The top coat of frosting is sweet and tasty, the center again is sweet, but alludes to a strawberry jam flavor. Overall we were all very pleased and truly enjoyed the American Strawberry Pop Tarts. In just a few days we will announce that our selection of American Snacks for sale online is officially open for business. Guess what? We have started to offer these exportable American Snacks a few days early! You can now buy American Strawberry Pop Tarts and Brown Sugar Pop Tarts. We hope to expand our selection in the near future. If you have your eye on a particular flavor let us know. Take a look at our complete selection of American Snacks or if you are looking for British Snacks you can view those too. Interested in additional international snacks? Be sure to leave your details to the right and we will keep you up to date! World of Snacks is back in Canada for a third time this month! Our international snack blog is traveling around the world to find the very best snacks and offer them for sale on our website. Earlier this month we launched our international snack store and now offer the best British snacks for sale online. Each month this year we will add a new country and their best candy, cakes, cookies, chocolates, chips, and sweets to our inventory. Starting February 1st we will start offering American Snacks for Export. So when we will add Canada’s best snacks to our store? As soon as we determine what the best snacks in Canada are! Let’s see if this snack from the Canadian L.B. Maple Treat Company will be included. For the dedicated snack enthusiasts who follow us, you’ll notice we have reviewed two other snacks offered from this Canadian snack company. We’ve previously looked at Maple Sugar Candies and Maple Butter. On our first review we were not impressed by the particular snack we sampled from the L.B. Maple Treat Company. They got word and sent us a giant package from Canada with snacks that they said we’d love. The first we sampled from their gift was their Maple Butter, and we did indeed love it! Today we are reviewing Maple Cream Fudge by L.B. Maple Treat. Will we love this snack too? Let’s take a look and find out. Our snack under review today comes in a cardboard package that matches the other products we have reviewed. The most noticeable image is the autumn looking maple trees and of course, the image of the snack. The package reads in English and what we assume is French. Of course their logo is on top, and underneath it reads “Maple Cream Fudge” followed by “Sucre a la crème au sirop d’erable.” Across the bottom, “A Canadian Tradition.” Inside the box, 200 grams of individual wrapped fudge pieces. Overall we think it looks classy, but let’s see how Canadian Maple Cream Fudge by L.B. Maple Treat taste!
Will World of Snacks offer Maple Cream Fudge by L.B. Maple Treat for sale online. We are not sure. We imagine we may include some of their items in the future but intend to launch the Canadian section of our international store with more traditional treats that expats may be searching for. Do you want some unique snacks of your own to try with your family? Shop our British Snacks section now or leave your details to the right and we’ll let you know as we add other countries. We will also offer you special exclusive deals. Keep on snacking world! We are on a quest to locate the very best snacks in the world. Our international snack blog is just over a year old and we have reviewed the best cookies, cakes, sweets, chocolates, and candies from 30 different countries. Just about a year ago we first encountered the Gamesa brand from Mexico. Today our snack blog is again back in Mexico and looking at a sweet treat from South of the Border. Last time we took a trip to Mexico we did a review of Emperador Combinado Cookies. Today we are again looking at a Mexican cookie, we are reviewing the Gamesa Arcoiris Marshmallow Cookies. Gamesa is currently owned by the snack conglomerate Pepsico, but has maintained the Gamesa name as a stand-alone Mexican brand. Let’s take a closer look at this snack under review. Our Mexican cookie pack comes in a mostly white sleeve with a little bit of blue trim, it’s a similar presentation as the last Gamesa snack we previously reviewed so we are assuming this is their general approach. This snack has the Gamesa logo in the corner and the words “Arcoiris Galletas con Malvaviso” on the package. Is also reads “6 Gelletas” followed by the English translation. In addition a picture of three cookies, two with silly expression and the third, an exact image of the snack it contains. On to the taste test of Gamesa Arcoiris Marshmallow Cookies!
Arcoiris Marshmallow Cookies are a true treat! After reviewing so many snacks from all around the world it is getting harder for us to find a unique take on a snack. This is absolutely original, and delicious. The cookie base is similar to the other Gamesa cookies we have sampled, except this version has small strawberry flavor crystals. On top of the cookie, four marshmallows, two pink and two white. As if that wasn’t enough, the marshmallows are covered in coconut flakes. It’s sweet, flavorful, and all comes together to “wow” our testers. We agree with the girl who prompted the trade, this is our favorite Mexican snack so far. Will World of Snacks offer Gamesa Arcoiris Marshmallow Cookies for sale online when our international snack store is expanded to include Mexican snacks? We are 100% sure these Mexican cookies will be included in our normal inventory. Can’t wait to sample some foreign snacks? Currently we are offering British Snacks for sale online and each month this year we will add a new country to our inventory. We invite you to leave your details to the right and we will keep you up-to-date with our progress. Keep on snacking world! 3/25/2014 UPDATE: You can now buy Gamesa Arcoiris Marshmallow Cookies online! World of Snacks was created to explore cultures through food. As a child traveling throughout Europe and North American I personally encountered unique treats (and experiences) that I now want to share with my family. In addition to the snacks I previously discovered, our company now seeks out all of the best cookies, cakes, chocolates, chips, gums, and all types of snack foods from around the world. Since we began our exploration of snacks just over a year ago no country has intrigued us more than Japan, and no other snack items has us more excited than Japanese Kit Kats. Our international snack blog has reviewed some very delicious Kit Kats out of Japan with my personal favorites being the Blueberry Cheesecake Kit Kat and the Vanilla Ice Cream Kit Kat. Today the snack under review is the Hazelnut Kit Kat, not to be confused with British Hazelnut Cream Kit Kat. Let’s take a closer look. The Japanese Hazelnut Kit Kat Comes in a brownish red package with a gold trim. The images hosted on the wrapper are a wireframe globe, some melted and milky chocolate, and two small hazelnuts. The classic Nestle Kit Kat logo is in the center. For our American followers, Nestle produced the Kit Kat to the rest of the world; we are the only country to have a Hershey Kit Kat. Of course the wrapper also has some Japanese Charters and the world Hazelnut across the bottom. Now on to the taste test of the Hazelnut Kit Kat from Japan! Our sample group today consisted of 6 adults, one female and five males all aged between 25-35. Unanimously all testers truly enjoyed this snack. So what does it taste like? Well, simply put it tastes like an improved version on the classic Kit Kat. The hazelnut is very subtle, almost hard to distinguish, but that is OK. It compliments the snack nicely and gives the Kit Kat a rich and creamy presentation. None of the tasters were particularly fond of hazelnut flavoring but all loved the Hazelnut Kit Kat from Japan and asked for more! Will World of Snacks offer the Japanese Hazelnut Kit Kat in our international snack store? For sure! We are excited to offer all the foreign flavors of Kit Kats we can get our hands on. Later this year we will expand our offerings to include snacks from Japan. Each month this year we will add a new country to our store. Being we are still in the first month, we currently only have British Snacks for sale online. Follow along as we grow and leave your details to the right to stay updated on our progress. Keep on snacking world! Our international snack blog is on a quest to locate the very best snacks in the world. Why are we hunting sweet and salty treats from across the globe? Our first thought was to connect with diverse cultures through their most loved foods. So far we have learned a ton about 30 different countries and what most people generally like to eat. The second reason for our adventure is to offer these discovered treats in the world biggest and best international snack store. Earlier this year we launched our snack shop with British Snacks, including their best chocolate, crisps, and biscuits. Each month this year we will add a new country to our inventory. So enough about why we are bother to spend countless hours eating delicious food, let’s get on with our review!
Although we have been reviewing a variety of exotic snacks for over a year, this is our first experience with a butter. This definitely qualifies as a snack, but butter is not the first item that comes to mind for us. So when it arrived, we were ecstatic to be trying something completely new. Our taste panel was small today, the World of Snacks co-owner and myself. We do intend to share with others later today, but our morning review panel is limited. We decided to try the butter by itself to start, although we imagine it’s rarely consumed this way. Instantly we realized L.B. Maple Treat was right, they did send us an item we “absolutely love.” Of course, we needed to get this Canadian butter onto a piece of toast to be sure. On toast, the L.B. Maple Butter is among the best things we have ever spread. The only other item that even comes close is Dulce De Leche, a Peruvian treat I enjoyed as a kid. The Maple butter is rich, sweet, and creamy. For being derived of only maple, the flavor was just right, not overpowering. With just a thin layer it transforms everyday bread into something truly magical. We paired it with a cappuccino and had an amazing breakfast! They did send us a note and said to try and blend the Maple butter with peanut butter, this will most likely be our breakfast tomorrow. If you wonder how it tastes leave a comment below and we will respond. Will World of Snacks offer Maple Butter by L.B. Maple Treat when our international snack store expands to Canadian products? It’s a definite maybe. We are still feeling out what is in high-demand across the globe from Canada. We enjoy this treat, and hope to eventually include it. If you want to try some unique treats in person you can visit our Online British Snack Store or leave your details to the right and we will let you know when new countries are added and send you special offers. Keep on snacking world! World of Snacks was created so our family and friends could explore the world through it’s sweet and salty treats. Over the last year we have spent time analyzing snacks from 30 different countries. At the first of this year we opened our international snack store to the world. We now offer the best British Snacks for sale in the United States with shipping around the world. Each month following we will add a new country and their snacks to our inventory. The focus of our international snack blog is to find inventory for our store. Today, we are back in Ireland reviewing some gourmet chocolates that we are very excited to be sampling. These special Irish chocolates that we are examining are produced by Lily O’Brien. The company was initially founded in 1992 in the O’Brien’s kitchen with only a wooden spoon and a passion for chocolate. Today the company is one of Ireland’s most recognized global brands and has export sales that make up 75% of their volume. Although they are famous at home, Lily O’Brien also sells products throughout the UK, USA, Australia, Sweden and more. Although to be honest, here in the USA this is our first experience of this Irish Snack. Although they offer a variety of chocolaty options we are examining the Lily O’Brien’s Gourmet Irish Chocolate Gifts. They have a range of keepsake, personalized, and wedding gifts. Our sample is a massive Christmas Keepsake gift package. It comes with their whole lineup of chocolates in a variety of individually wrapped gift packages. The idea is to buy the keepsake box, open it up, give out gifts of gourmet Irish chocolate to everyone your have ever met, and keep the massive container for yourself. Well, that is our take on it. Although the box offers a wide size of gift options, we dove into the biggest and divided it up for our review panel. Our box contained three trays of 30 chocolates, for those who don’t feel like doing math, that’s 90 chocolates! In this massive sub-box of our giant larger keepsake gift box there were 10 different flavors of the Irish chocolate. To prevent the need to create our first international snack novel, we are going to examine each with just a very quick summary. So for your snack research pleasure, here is our nearly tweet friendly review of Lily O’Brien’s Gourmet Irish Chocolate Gifts. First up was the Double Chocolate Truffle. Filled with a velvet smooth 55% dark chocolate and encased in a hard shell 68% dark chocolate this dark on dark combination created a well blended creamy treat that for some reason has a hint of orange. Simply Chocolate was just as the name implies. This Irish snack was a blend of both white and dark chocolate and was a firm and a little hard. Very enjoyable, but the most solid version offered by Lily O’Brien. Le Crunch Chocolat tastes a lot like an American crunch bar that has been re-engineered into a gourmet Irish chocolate. The crunch comes from a French biscuit. Not the USA version of a biscuit though, the cookie kind. My personal favorite was the Lemon Meringue Pie. WOW! This tastes like a fresh lemon meringue pie coated in outrageously delicious Irish milk chocolate. Praline Perfection offered a perfectly presented white chocolate cup outer shell with a praline and smooth chocolate center. The nut was a little small, but the treat had big flavor. Caramel Mocchiato caught us off guard. Generally coffee and chocolate candy can come off a little weak. The coffee in Lily O’Brien’s chocolate was perfect, with a nearly fresh ground taste. In addition to being snack lovers, we are very serious coffee and consumers and to be wowed by a snack version is rare. We are not new to orange chocolate; in fact this is our third review featuring this combination. However, out of the three this snack, the Zesty Orange Chocolate was our least favorite rendition. The orange was a strange firm jelly and there were rind pieces on top? Not our favorite Irish gourmet chocolate for sure. Hazelnut O’Brien was our female tasters favorite, minus the nut. I personally enjoyed the nut, so I ate hers too! The mouse like filling is divine and the white chocolate layer on top rounds this snack out well. Their classic Sticky Toffee gave me an instant sugar rush, in fact we are 30 minutes post review and I am still high on sugar. The toffee is the best I have ever tasted. Our female taster was not a fan but all other truly enjoyed this chocolate snack. Last but not least, Death by Chocolate. This one left us wanting more. The bold name oversold the item. Or maybe it was because we just consumed 9 other delicious treats. The taste took awhile to come together and it was enjoyable but lacked wow factor. There you have it. This is our longest snack review to date! Will World of Snacks offer Lily O’Brien’s Gourmet Irish Chocolate Gifts for sale online? Not at the moment. They have a decent export set up and offer the sale of their snacks right on their website. We may be interested in gift items in the future and if we extend our international snack store to include items like this we will revisit with this Irish snack brand. Hungry for snacks? Head over and buy British Chocolates online now or leave your details to the right to be notified as we expand our inventory. Earlier this year we official launched our international snacks store and we now sell a variety of British Snacks Online. Yesterday we expanded our inventory of snacks from England to include a selection of British Biscuits with half of the selection being produced by Cadbury. Why does World of Snacks only have British Snacks for sale? Well each month this year we are expanding our snacks store to include the best cookies, cakes, chips, chocolate, and sweets from a different country. Next month we will begin selling and shipping American Snacks all around the world. Until then, let’s look at our selection of Cadbury Chocolate Biscuits and compare them. Unless you are from England or elsewhere in the United Kingdom deciding which Cadbury Biscuit (or cookie) is best for your tea time or snack craving, can be just a tad confusing. All three of our offerings of Cadbury Biscuits from England look very similar. The all come in a 300-gram tube that is mostly Cadbury purple, feature a large Cadbury logo, and pair images of the biscuit. On all the packages you can see a picture of the cookie contained within. One side is clearly silkily Cadbury chocolate, the other a slightly different looking biscuit. So now that we know what these British Biscuits look like, let’s being our review and see how they taste. Cadbury Oat and Choc Chip Biscuits We will start with our favorite, which was a surprise to all testers involved. There are very little oat cookies in the US. There are American Oatmeal Cookies, but they taste completely different. Our group of testers all encountered an oat biscuit for the first time on this taste test, and no one was really excited to be eating a biscuit made of oats, chocolate yes, oats not so much. Cadbury Oat and Choc Chip Biscuits are extraordinary! They are lightweight, and you feel like it’s OK to be eating them. You get a powerful crunch, and just enough chocolate chips and chocolate to make them truly a treat. The oats seem to be filled with air, which dunking in milk or tea would be ideal. Every one of our testers rated this their favorite Cadbury Biscuit. Cadbury Shortcake Biscuits Surprisingly enough our rankings actually match the order they were presented. Maybe the Oat and Chocolate Chip cookie set the bar to high? The Cadbury Shortcake Biscuits are delicious as well. They are teatime shortcake biscuits with one layer covered again in Cadbury chocolate. These British Biscuits were sweeter then both of the others and seemed more dessert like. Cadbury Digestive Cookies Out of the three, the Cadbury Digestive Cookies are the only I personally recall having as a child living in England. These are the workhorse of the three and remind me of what a typical British Cookie should taste like. They are denser than the Oat and Choc Chip as well as the Shortcake. They are sweeter than the oat biscuits but not as sweet as the shortcake. Overall they seem middle of the row, and nearly all our testers agreed, this was their least favorite, but still a tasty and enjoyable snack.
Last month our entire international snack blog was dedicated to British Snacks. At the first of this month we launched are long awaited online snack store. Our inventory currently consists of all British Snacks but each month this year we will expand our inventory to include a new country and their best sweets and treats. Now that our store is open for business our blog will get back to touring the world in search of the very best snacks anywhere. Well today, we are back in England again and for a good reason. Our snack under review today is very unique and produced by a company with a fun name, Oloves. Oloves was founded in March of 2007 in West Sussex, England. Company founders lived in Spain for a stint and while there decided to sell pitted olives on the beach. They came up with their snack concept and decided to head home and take their business to the next level. The result, award winning, gluten-free, low calorie, healthy treats. Today they boast they are not a global company, however their product is in 14 different countries and their branding is by far some of the best we have seen in the snack industry. Let’s take a look at a few of the flavors offered by Oloves. If you haven’t put it together yet, Oloves are olives. Not a typical snack you’d find in the US. I personally have spent time traveling aboard and living in England, and last I checked over there olives are not at typical snack item. That being said, we love items that are not typical! Our snack pack arrived from the UK and the first thing we noticed was the packaging. They arrived in matte finished small pouches with some bold styling and some 3D imagery of an olive in the center. The package is very high-end and quickly got us excited about the snack. In addition, the Oloves website is truly stunning. Even before we tried this snack we had an idea that we would like them. Our sampling includes Oloves Hot Chili Mama, Tasty Mediterranean, and Lemony Lover. Let see how they taste!
Our second sampling was the Oloves Lemony Lover. The first thing I personally noted was that the lemon flavor was not overpowering, something that is too common in lemon based snack items. Three out of the four testers truly enjoyed this version although all testers said this version was their least favorite of the group. The last flavor of Oloves that we sampled was the Hot Chili Mamma. This is the one that most excited me personally. Pitted green olives with Habanero chilies sounds like a match made in heaven! Although it wasn’t until this particular test that I realized I like green olives to being with. I’ve always been a Kalamalata olive type of guy. This version of the Oloves was the most loved by the entire panel. The spice was mild but added enough zest to it to really round out this British snack. A side note about all three flavors, their epic website does not list them and being they came directly from the Oloves company we think they may be a test product for a future release. Will World of Snacks offer the Oloves for sale online in our British Snack Store? We are not sure yet. We really do enjoy this snack but we feel for traditional snackers it may be a better fit as a bar condiment (these would be unreal in a martini). That being said when we do intended to extend our inventory passed traditional snacks from England. When we do, these unique and healthy treats will be on the top of the list. Next month we are launching our American Snacks segment of our international snack store and will ship our snacks to England and the rest of the world. To stay up-to-date with our progress and to receive special offers leave your details to the right. Keep on snacking world! Our international snack blog has visited a total of 30 countries over the past year. We are on a search for the best snacks in the world! Why are we looking for delicious chocolates, cookies, chips, cakes, and sweets? Our goal is to be the all-inclusive one-stop shop for international snacks. We launched our store at the first of this year with British Snacks. Each month this year we will expand our offering to include a new country. Who’s up for February? USA! Over a third of our followers live abroad and we intent to supply the best American Snacks to them. So onto our review of the 3 Musketeer Candy Bar. The 3 Musketeers chocolate bar is a big hit in both the US and Canada. Originally released by the Mars Candy Company way back in 1932 the car initially came in three pieces, hence the name. Interestingly enough, each bar was a different flavor. For just 5 cents you got chocolate, strawberry, and vanilla 3 Musketeers bars. Currently chocolate is the only flavor offered, although they have dabbled in others at times. We really wish we could get our hands on a Vanilla of Cherry 3 Musketeers bar though! Let’s take a closer look at the flavor we can locate. Our 3 Musketeers Candy Bar comes in a silver-ish foil like wrapper. The name of the bar is boldly placed in red across the front and the text below reads “Whipped Up, Fluffy Chocolate-on-Chocolate Taste.” Oddly enough, the Mars Logo is very small and placed on the back. In the early days this American Candy Bar was touted as one of the biggest. Now, it seems to be just average size. Enough of how it looks, onto the taste-test of the 3 Musketeers Bar. At least two-thirds of our followers already know how this American candy bar tastes. That being said, how many of you have really tried to put what a 3 Musketeers Candy Bar tastes like in words? How does it taste? Exactly like it should! We are all familiar with this chocolate bar. What about our international followers who do not know what it tastes like? That’s why we are even bothering to review American snacks to being with! The center of the bar of the bar is a whipped chocolate, as you may have guessed from the packaging. However the texture is not what I personally image whipped chocolate to be like. The inside of a three Musketeers Bar has a light marshmallow consistency. It’s fluffy, and a little sticky. The outer shell is a chocolate that crackles when you bite into the bar.
Will World of Snacks stock the 3 Musketeers Candy Bar and offer if for sale with international shipping? Yes! Starting February 1st you will be able to buy this candy bar and have it exported to you, no matter where you live. We will also offer the 3 Musketeers Candy Bar wholesale in larger quantities. So which country will fall the US? We haven’t decided yet. Why don’t you tell us what international snacks we should stock? Also, leave your details to the right for special offers and announcements. Keep on snacking world! |
