Here at World of Snacks we’ve sampled tasty treats from over 40 different countries. We started out as a small family blog just a few years ago and now we are one of the largest companies selling snacks from all around the world. Generally we use our blog to feature taste tests as we explore new snacks to see if we think they’ll be a good fit for our international snack store. This has been a load of fun but we’ve kind of neglected writing about snacks we currently sell. So we’ve decided to dedicate the next few snack articles to yummy items we currently sell in our store here online. Today, we are starting off with snacks from Thailand. Thai snacks have been great sellers for us and they tend to sell out fast. Currently we offer a selection of Thai Chips, Candy, Noodles, Cookies and Cakes. To keep things short we are going to feature one of our favorite Thai snacks from each category
Well there you have it. These are just a few of our favorite Thai snacks, so be sure to check them all out and discover others that you simply need to try. Be sure to check back next week as we highlight some of our favorite Filipino snacks.

Our international snack blog is on a mission to find the best snacks from around the world. The snacks that we discover and fall in love with will eventually be offered in our international snack store. So far our international snack store consist of only two countries, but each month this year we will add a new country and their best snacks to our inventory. In just a few weeks, German Snacks will made available for purchase online with shipping around the world. What’s after that? Well, that what we are still trying to decide. One of the front-runners for our expansion is Thailand So today, we are reviewing a Thai snack!
The Koh-Kae Peanuts Coconut Cream Flavor Coated Snack comes in a circular tin with a vacuum-sealed tin top. There is a guy that appears to be dressed in a karate uniform holding a sign that reads the brand, Koh-Kae. Next to it some simple text that reads “Peanuts Coconut Cream Flavour Coated”. Below the text, some peanuts in a crunchy shell. On the back of the canister it lists the worldwide distributors, and there are quite a few in a variety of destinations. This is highly unusual for a snack from the Thailand or anywhere, but it does let us know this snack must be loved around the world in some fashion! Enough with how they look, let’s get on with the taste test of these Koh-Kae Peanuts.
Our initial group for our sampling of the Koh-Kae Peanuts Coconut Cream was small. It was my partner and my son. We all enjoyed the snack, but the flavor was so subtle I wanted to expand our taste test panel. The second round of testing included 6 more testers. All but one enjoyed this peanut treat. It’s a pretty simple snack, a peanut with a crunchy coating that is only slightly flavored with coconut cream. It’s so subtle, that the coconut cream doesn’t actually hit you until the aftertaste. Several of the snackers mentioned the Koh-Kae peanuts taste similar to the American Ritz Crackers Peanut Butter Sandwiches, and although I didn’t realize it at first, I do agree. As I write this article I am also still eating this Thai Snack, and it’s just hit me as well. They are very addicting!
Will World of Snacks offer Koh-Kae Peanuts Coconut Cream in our selection of Snacks from Thailand? For sure! I am already craving more for myself and being they have a pretty decent international following this would be a great fit in our international snack store. Well there you have it. If you’d like to stay up-to-date as we add additional countries and their best snacks to our store be sure to leave your details to the right. Keep on snacking world!
As you can imagine operating an international snack review website we run into many friends who come back from abroad with treats they’ve discovered. One such friend mentioned he would be spending time in Asia and asked if we’d like him to bring us something back. We told him to find the most unique and unusual snack possible. He definitely did just that. Follow along as our international snack blog head to Thailand! This is not our first snack review of an unusual Thai snack. In fact earlier this month we sampled Crispy Baby Clam Snacks. Sticking in the seafood snack family this week we are reviewing Sweet and Spicy Squid. Generally we dive into the brand and a small bit of history about our snack in question but from what we can determine our Sweet and Spicy Squid comes from a Thai deli or bakery. The only mention of a brand states this unusual foreign snack is distributed by FR General Merchandise. We did a little research on this Thai snack company or distributor and did not locate any company details. So let’s head right into our taste test!
Will World of Snacks offer this unusual Thai snack as a part of our normal inventory when our international snack store launches early next year? Chance are we will not. We do want to offer unique snacks that will be fun to explore for all but being this is from a deli it does not make sense. We may try squid snacks from Bento, a major manufacture of the treat but it’s highly unlikely. I personally cannot see anyone enjoying this. If you think we should carry, let us know and maybe we will change our mind. If you’d like to stay up to date and receive a special coupon to the launch of our store be sure to leave your details to the right. Our international snacks blog is authored byRichard Olivarez. Please contact for article suggestions. Reviewing snacks from all around the world is just as much fun as it sounds. We get to sample a wide range of candy, chips, and cookies from a variety of continents and countries. Each snack review is an adventure and offers insight into cultures that are foreign to us. We are so excited to sample each snack that we can’t wait until review day. Today, is the first international snack I personally was not excited to sample. Let’s head to Thailand and see exactly which snack we are talking about. We are reviewing a snack from the Smiling Fish Brand of Thailand. This Thai snack company is also known as the Pompui Group and was established in 1978. Today Smiling Fish Brand is among the leading sellers of canned seafood broth, both in Thailand and internationally. Oddly enough this snack company also dabbles in hotel management. Our snack under review is not one of their 3 or 4 star hotels; it’s the Smiling Fish Brand Crispy Baby Clam Snack.

Typically snacks are more appropriate for later in the day but there are a few sweet treats that can be enjoyed in the morning as well. Our international snack blog is heading to Thailand for only the second Thai snack review this year. Read on as World of Snacks review Euro Strawberry Cakes. The brand Euro printed on the package of this Thai snack is short for the The European Food Company. Euro was established on the 13th of November in the year 2527. This is not a typo, today we learned that Thailand has it's own calendar and the years are based after Buddha's death. In most of the rest of the world the Thai year 2527 is known as 1984. Euro is among the leading manufactures of confectionery snack items in Thailand and offers nationally loved products that include Beijing wafers, Jelly Brand, and of course their line of cakes.
The package got us excited and we each ripped into our own individual cake. The adults paired their Euro Strawberry Cake with morning coffee and our 10 year old Director of Taste opted for a glass of milk. The texture was smooth and bouncy and the color resembled the now back in production American Twinkies. The taste of the cake hinted towards a Twinkies as well but was not an exact replica. The cake seemed to be a pound-cake shortcake hybrid and was very tasty. The cream filling was sweet, but not as sweet as we would have anticipated. The photo on the package did let us down though, only one out of the three cakes sampled contained enough filling. Both of the adults kept waiting to locate the cream center and never encountered much more than a pea size amount of strawberry cream. To be honest though, the cake was pleasant enough that it didn't really take away from the overall snack. This Thai treat reminded me personally of a easy to eat to go form of a strawberry shortcake. All three taste testers truly enjoyed this snack.
Will World of Snacks carry the Euro Strawberry Cake and make it available for purchase online when the international snack store launches later this year? Our American based international supplier of snacks does indeed intend to offer the Euro Cake in our normal inventory. If you'd like a coupon and a personal invitation to the launch of our internet snack store please leave your details to the right. Be sure to check back for our next foreign snack review early next week! Get your taste buds ready, we are taking our Global Snack Blog to Thailand and reviewing the popular Amira Tamarind Candy. Generally we like to lead in with a little about the brand but this popular treat has very little information available online. The brand is listed as Amira which I am not able to locate any information on and the manufacture is Asia Jumbo Industry out of Thailand. The only information I can find about Asia Jumbo Industry as that do indeed make Amira Tamarind Candy and a few others top selling Thai candies. So with out further delay, lets get onto the review. Amira Tamarind Candy comes in a shinny light brown packaging with a red logo in the center that appears to read Oust, however I assume that it’s Thai writing and it’s just a coincidence. Upon opening 16 small tablets that are individually wrapped in a similar packaging spill out. I chose the word tablets since that is how they are labeled on the main package, but they are not medicinal. Now you know what they look like, let’s see how they taste.
Towards the end of the year we are planning on launching our international snack food store and we intended to have a section dedicated to Thai candy and treats. It looks like Amira Tamarind Candy will most likely be included as a part of our regular inventory
