Our first impression- they are nearly irresistible! They chocolate is creamy and just a tad sweet. It’s a rich dark chocolate. The crispy rice puffs are very small, unlike any other rice puffs we’ve encountered in international candy. So needless to say the taste of this Belgian snack is delicious, however it’s the texture that has us enthralled. The “thins” similar to small Pringle style chips but made entirely of dark chocolate. The chocolates are very thin and crisp. The back of the package shows the Belgian Dark Chocolate Thins used as a topping on ice cream and a cupcake, we have to agree with Royal Chocolates- these would be an ideal topping to take your treats the next level. At the beginning of the year we launched our international snack store. Through out 2014 we’ve expanded the store to include the best snacks from several countries. Our goal is to include a total of 12 countries in our normal inventory. Will World of Snacks offer Belgian Dark Chocolate Thins in our international snacks store? It’s to soon to tell. We need to try a few more Belgian snacks to make that determination. One thing is for sure though; if we do offer Belgian snacks for sale online we will absolutely offer several of Royal Chocolates Thins! If you’d like to stay in touch as we add new inventory be sure to leave your details to the right. Keep on snacking world!

It’s Sunday fun day and we are continuing our search for the very best snacks in the world. Last week we tried something sweet, the Dora3 Crema Cocoa Croissants. So today we thought we’d go with a foreign salty snack. We are reviewing Best Foods Lotto Pizza Snack from Romania. Our last snack out of Romania was the Primola White Chocolate Bar and it was only average at best. Let’s take a closer look at this week's snack and see if it’s any better!
Upon opening the bag we were greeted with a whiff of what smelled a little like stale cat food. Not at all appetizing and left us a little uneasy about what exactly we’d be snacking on today. With our no snack left un-tasted policy we dove in anyway. We are glad we did too! The flavor is very unique. It’s definitely pizza, but not a US style pizza. We are assuming Best Foods nailed Romanian Pizza. You get a strong dough flavor and the green peppers are the most prevalent topping. We also noticed a hint of mushroom, which oddly enough is not on the package. Either way it’s bursting with a pleasant and appetizing flavor, which overtakes the original smell. In addition to a good taste we also enjoyed the texture. They are shaped like small Funyuns but they are much lighter and dissolve in your mouth. So far this year we’ve expanded our international snack store to include the best snacks from 7 different countries. We are currently searching for an 8th country to include in our inventory. Romania is on the list, but we are not sure when and if we will stock Romanian snacks. If we do, you will absolutely be able to buy Lotto Pizza Chips online in the US and have them shipped around the world. If you are hungry for snacks now be sure to check out our store! Earlier this month World of Snacks launched it’s first round of Italian Snacks offered for sale in the US with international shipping to nearly everywhere. Our selection of snacks from Italy for sale online includes cookies, cakes, and chocolates. We initially set out to create World of Snacks so we could locate and sample unique snacks from around the globe. Tonight we are sampling our very first croissant snack! Our snack under review is the Dora3 Crema Cocoa Croissants. Dora3 is a brand owned by the Italian confectionery company Antonelli. It appears from our research the same snack is offered under each label. In some markets this snack is marketed as Antonelli Crema Cocoa Croissants. Unfortunately our research turned up little else about either Dora3 or Antonelli. So let’s move along and take a closer look these packaged Crema Cocoa Croissants. Our snack under review comes in a sky blue cloud-like wrapper. The snack weighs in at 50 grams or 1.76 ounces, depending on your preference. Dora3’s logo is simple; it’s a white oval with some wheat thrown about behind it. Below the Dora3 logo the package reads “croissant di pastasfoglia – puff pastry.” To the right there is a picture of a croissant packed with an abundance of chocolate filing as well as a wooden container offering even more chocolate. Along the bottom of the package it reads, “Crema Cacao with Custard Cocoa Filling”. Now onto the taste test of this Italian baked good. To be honest this unique snack had us intrigued from the beginning. A pre-packaged croissant snack is unheard of in the US, or really in any other country we have explored. The problem with offering a croissant this way is it’s typically fresh baked, and how long can it last? Well, Dora3 is working some sort of magic. The shelf life of the Crema Cocoa Croissants is quite long yet they manage somehow to still offer a fresh baked snack taste. Our testers were pleasantly surprised to sample a fluffy baked good. Although I personally prefer my croissants to be more flaky and buttery, this snack did not have a stale taste that I would have assumed would be apparent. It did however lack the abundance of chocolate pictured on the wrapper. There was very little chocolate filling and if the pastry portion wasn’t pleasant we doubt we would have enjoyed this snack. Overall it was enjoyable, but has room for improvement. If you want to order the Dora3 Crema Cocoa Croissants to sample yourself, you better do it now! Although we do offer this snack for sale in the US, we are not sure if we will restock our supply. Looking for other Italian Snacks that we do love? Check out our Italian offerings in our international snack store. As always, keep on snacking world! At World of Snacks we’ve been lucky enough to sample the best cookies, cakes, candies, chocolates, and treats from around the world. One snack item that we’ve failed to give enough attention to is drinks. We are still trying to decide if we will actually offer drinks in our international snack store. While we explore the logistics of offering foreign drinks for sale in the US we plan on at least sampling a few for review here on our blog. So today we are looking at the Nestle Milo Energy Drink.
Our version of the Nestle Milk Energy Drink comes in a shiny green can, about the size of a normal US Red Bull Energy Drink. The Nestle logo is in the top corner just above the Milo logo. Below the can reads “Chocolate Nutritional Energy Drink.” The middle of the can shows an athlete of some sort, maybe cricket or football (soccer), wearing a Milo uniform. The bottom right corner mentions that the drink contains vitamins and minerals. Now onto the taste test portion of our review. Personally I tend to avoid energy drinks. I do enjoy coffee and a little caffeine on occasion but for the most part I prefer other beverages. So for the review of the Nestle Milo Energy Drink I consulted with several serious energy drink enthusiasts. My personal experience was very enjoyable. It tastes a lot like another Nestle product known as Ovaltine. It hints towards a watered down chocolate milk with a little boost of energy. So what did our panel of experts think? They all enjoyed it too, not one negative comment! So will World of Snacks offer Nestle Milo Energy Drink for sale in the US? We still don’t know! Once we do we will be sure to let everyone know. Be sure to leave your details to the right and we will update you if we add this snack and as we add others from around the world. Until then be sure to check out our International Snack Store! |
