Today our international snack blog heads to the country that is home of the Chocolate Hills! Unfortunately after a little research the hills do not produce cocoa or any form of chocolate. If you are a geography buff you may have guessed, we reviewing a snack from the Philippines. Last time we sampled a snack from the Philippines we took at a look at the very unique Moby Crunch Chocolate. Today we are reviewing another unique chocolate treat, the King Choc Nut. The King Choc Nut is manufactured by Unisman, a confectionery company that we are not able to find any detailed information on. We ran into a similar issue with our last Pinoy snack, and it seems this may be an ongoing occurrence with snacks from the Philippines. Our sample for this Philippine snack review is a mid-size package weighing in at 6.77 ounces and containing 24 individually wrapped mini candy bar type pieces. From first impression it seemed as if we were buying one bar in a shiny gold and red wrapper. It wasn’t until we opened the snack for the review did we notice it has many smaller bars. This allowed us to share and we increased our taste test group to include 10 members (and we still have bars left over.) The full name, King Choc Nut Peanut Milk Chocolate really describes exactly what this snack is. The ingredients are listed as roasted peanuts, can sugar, milk powder, cocoa powder, and vanilla. To be honest, it tastes exactly as you would image. With simple ingredients and no chemicals, you get a straightforward snack. The Choc Nut falls apart as soon as you open it and we deduct it’s due to its simple structure. All of the tasters rated this snack enjoyable and only one really liked it. Most of the other testers all thought it was average. None of our tester disliked the Choc Nut. I personally was in the middle of the group. I thought it was refreshing with its simple make up but tasted a strong flavor of peanut shell. It reminded me of whole shelled peanuts you get from a baseball game. At first I enjoyed it but after consuming a few pieces I believe it would be a better snack without the shells included. Will World of Snacks offer Unisman King Choc nut in our initial inventory? If the Philippines make the cut for our selection of countries offered than this snack will most likely be included. It’s enjoyable enough and should have a decent Pilipino following. Also it will be priced very affordable, so budget conscious adventurous tasters will also most likely be interested in ordering. We are getting excited about the launch of our international snack store set to take place late 2013. If you’d like to be notified when our snack are offered for sale be sure to submit you details to the right.

We are excited to review the Galler White Chocolate Coffee Candy Bar. The price point for this high-end snack is nearly $4 per bar, so our expectations are high. Their packaging and presentation hold up to our standards for pricey candy bars, but let's dive in and see what it tastes like. Being I am a huge fan of white chocolate and a lover of coffee I imagined this candy bar to be life changing. Unfortunately it is not. The flavor is unique, but the two do not merge well together. The white chocolate is creamy and a bit too sweet. The coffee filling does not elude to a high-end espresso, it rather taste more like old coffee from a gas station. The filling texture is mousse-like but for some reason has chards of something in it. Little chewy morsels of what I assume is coffee? Overall I was personally let down and our other tasters were not moved by this Belgium candy bar. However, as I am writing this review I am sampling bites to keep the review fresh and am noticing that I am starting to enjoy it more. Maybe Galler's White Chocolate Coffee Bar is one that grows on you over time. We do intend to give them another shot with one of their other unique flavor combinations.
Will World of Snacks offer the Galler Chocolatier White Chocolate Coffee Belgium candy bar when we launch our international snack store? Chances are we will not initially stock this treat. We are not sure if Belgium itself will be included at the launch and with the availability of Galler Candy Bars directly from the manufacture online it doesn't make sense for our company to offer it. If you like this review and want to be notified of our grand opening be sure to submit your details to the right. With our international snack blog we are searching the world for the very best snacks and providing reviews as well as locating inventory in preparation for the launch of our web-based global snack store. Part of our review process is determining the origination of the snack and most of the time it's pretty straight forward. On rare occasions some international snack brands make it slightly difficult to categorize it's country. Our snack for review today is one such case. So today our global snack blog heads to Switzerland, Austria, and/or Poland to review Milka Choco-Swing Cookies by Kraft. This is not the first time we have reviewed a snack offered by Kraft through their Milka label. Previously we reviewed Milka Milkinis Chocolate Bars. During our homework session researching that particular snack (manufactured in Poland) we determined that the creator was Swiss Chocolatier who was born in Germany. So from our introduction the Milka brand was all ready pretty international. To make things even more complicated the Milka Choco-Swing Cookies we are looking at now are made in Austria and ultimately the brand is owned by the world wide conglomerate, Kraft. So we are going to ballpark this snack as being from Switzerland and if anyone can prove otherwise, we'd love to hear from you! Now let's get onto the important stuff, the review of cookies, or as they are labeled, the Milka Choco-Swing Alpine Milk Chocolate & Biscuit. Another key feature of our international snack reviews is the presentation and packaging. Even though we do include detailed photos we generally like to paint a picture of the experience. With this snack we are so eager to share the taste test that we are going to skip the wrapper and jump right in!
Will World of Snack include Milka Choco-Swing Alpine Milk Chocolate & Biscuits when we launch or snack store later this year? This snack, no matter it's origin will absolutely be included as a part of our normal inventory! If you haven't already be sure to enter your email to the right so we can notify you of our launch and also send you a special coupon. We hope you will get to sample this snack and many others for yourself before the end of the year!
