World of Snacks is on a mission to locate the best cookies, cakes, chocolates, candies, and gummies in the world. Why are we searching for junk food? Of course we love it and we hope offer these foreign snacks for sale online. So far our international snack store offers the best treats from 6 countries. One of the featured countries is Germany and the snack under review todayis one we’ve recently added to our selection of German snacks. We are reviewing Milka Raspberry cookies! If you are a snack historian or love Milka like we do you may know that this confectionery brand was originally created by a Swiss Chocolatier. For a while it was a German company, now it’s owned by a snack conglomerate that started in the United States. In addition to this, Milka is sold throughout Europe. So for now we will classify this snack brand as German, but in the future will offer their snacks for sale in multiple countries sections. Let’s take a closer look at this particular snack, the Milka Choco Dessert Raspberry cookies. Our sample of these Milka cookiea comes in trademark purple package and weighs in at 5.2oz, which we think is the perfect amount. Not too much, not too little! Of course the Milka logo and their well-known purple cow are located on the top left corner. On the right, images that make you want to rip the re-sealable package right open. They include two cookies, a handful of raspberries, a piece Milka of chocolate, and a large swirl of chocolate. But unless someone is reading this to you, you can see that for yourself! Onto the taste test. To be honest we didn’t know Milka made cookies until recently. We’ve reviewed many of their other chocolate snacks and when we found out there were Milka cookies we were ecstatic. So needless to say we had our hopes set high. So how do Milka Raspberry cookies tastes? We were not disappointed. The cookie is soft and cake-like, the chocolate is for sure Milka brand chocolate, and then - there is jelly. We did like the jelly, but it wasn’t what we thought it would be. I personally imaged a soft and slightly sweet fruit filling. However, it’s a very sweet gelatin. It’s firm and potent. It did catch us off guard a little, but in the end it takes the cookie from good to great. Are you hungry? You’re are in luck. We offer the Milka Choco Dessert Raspberry Cookies and a similar orange flavor for sale here in the US with shipping around the world. If you love snacks like we do be sure to leave your details on the right so we can keep you posted on our progress as we explore new countries and their cookies, cakes, chocolates, candies, and gummies. As always, keep on snacking world!

Today our international snack blog is reviewing a chocolate bar produced by German based and Austrian founded Milka. This isn’t our first review of a Milka Chocolate Bar, earlier this year we took a close look at the Milka Oreo Cookie Bar and we absolutely loved it! So what does World of Snacks think of the Milka Marzipan Crème Chocolate Bar? First, what is Marzipan? We thought we knew. Our impression was that it’s Europe’s version of peanut butter, something that is oddly missing overseas. We were greatly mistaken. Marzipan is a sweet mixture made of sugar or honey and almond meal. Now that’s out of the way, let’s take a closer look at Milka Marzipan Crème. Milka produces a range of size of their chocolate bars. You can get anything from extra small to massive. Our sample of the Milka Marzipan Creme weighs in at 100 grams and is a big chocolate bar by American standards but is actually a medium sized candy bar according to Milka themselves. Our bar is contained in a light purple wrapper and featured their trade mark logo and the company mascot, a purple cow. To the right there is some German with the wordz “Marzipan An-Crème” easily translatable. There’s also a picture of a few pieces of the chocolate bar and what we thought were peanuts. We now know they are almonds. On to the taste test!
Earlier this year we launched our international snack store and each month in 2014 we are expanding to include a new country and their best snacks. A few months back we added German Snacks and the Milka Marzipan Crème is one of the snacks we offer for sale online. Check out the best snacks from around the world on our website and leave your details to the right if you want to stay in touch. Keep on snacking world! Over the past year and a half World of Snacks has been exploring the World through food. We have sampled the best snacks from 34 separate countries located across the globe. Why are we doing this? We hope to offer the best snacks in the world for sale online with shipping from here in the US to all around the world. At the beginning of the year we opening our international snacks store and each month this year we plan to expand our inventory to include a new country and their best cookies, chocolates, sweets, and treats. One of the countries we added earlier this year is Germany. Tonight we are reviewing a German cookie! Although we’ve only been open a handful of months one cookie out of our German snack inventory has quickly become our best seller. The number one selling German cookie from World of Snacks is the Bahlsen Choco Leibniz Milk Chocolate Biscuits. Recently one of our customers suggested we try the Bahlsen Choco Leibniz Dark Chocolate Biscuits. Being we love our customers (and snacks), that’s exactly what we did! If you are unfamiliar with the Bahlsen brand from Germany, we suggest you get familiar real quick. They make some of the best cookies on the planet. Specializing in fine European biscuits and pairing them with rich chocolates, smooth creams, and sweet fruits, they are one cookie brand worth being familiar with. Our sample under review is the Bahlsen Choco Leibniz Dark Chocolate Biscuits 4.4oz box. This regal blue box contains 12 biscuits (cookies) that are covered in a thick dark chocolate, but only on one side. Let’s see how they taste. Just like the milk chocolate version, the Dark Chocolate Choco Leibniz cookies are awesome! The cookie portion of the snack is mild, crunchy, and just right. The chocolate is thick, firm, and well balanced. Overall this is one of our favorite cookies from Germany, or anywhere else in the world! It’s a perfect compliment to a hot cup of tea or a cold glass of milk. Will World of Snacks offer the Bahlsen Choco Leibniz Dark Chocolate Biscuits for sale online in our international snack store? We already do! We just added them yesterday and we have several more Bahlsen cookies on the way. If you’d like to stay up-to-date as we add new snacks and additional countries be sure to leave your details the right. As always, keep on snacking world! Tonight we continue our mission to locate the best snacks in the world. Our international snack review is of The Flintstones Milch Schokoriegel or for those who speak English, The Flintstones Milk Chocolate Bar. The Flintstones Milch Schokoriegel is manufactured by one of our favorite international candy companies, Kinder. Kinder is German for child, but oddly enough, this brand is owned by the Italian snack company Ferrero. Kinder produces several candies that we offer in our international snack store, including the Kinder Riegel, which we believe this Flintstones chocolate bar is a version of. Let’s take a closer look.
Well we assumed this German (really Italian) candy bar was similar to the Kinder Riegel since it’s made by Kinder and actually says “Riegel” on the package. After the taste test we’ve come to realize it’s similar, but not exactly identical. In fact, just after our taste test we took a Kinder Riegel from our inventory to compare. The Flintstones Milch Schokoriegel is actually more sugary and less creamy than it’s similar counterpart. The chocolate bars themselves also look different. Why is this? We are not sure. There is very little information about this version of the Kinder bar anywhere. So we are assuming, since this sample did not come right from Germany, that it’s a version made for a different market. We did enjoy this foreign chocolate bar, but not as much as the bar we thought it was. Will World of Snacks offer The Flintstones Milch Schokoriegel in our Online German Snack Store? Not yet, but maybe for a limited run in the future. If you’d like to try some of our favorite Kinder chocolate snacks be sure to check out the German Chocolate section of our inventory. If you are looking for something a little more bold and equally as rare- check out our recent addition of Japanese Kit Kats. As always, keep on snacking world! At World of Snacks we dedicate a serious amount of time to locate the very best international snacks. We then select the best of the best and offer them for sale in our international snack store hosted here in the United States with shipping to virtually everywhere. Each month in 2014 we will expand our inventory by one country and include their best cookies, cakes, chips, and candies. One of the added countries just a few months back was Germany. Tonight we are going to take a closer look at our favorite German Chocolate Bar; we are doing a review of the Milka Oreo. Milka is and has been a much-loved European chocolatier since 1901. Originating in Switzerland and then moving to Germany and later Austria, this leading chocolate brand is now owned by Modelez International, which was up until recent years called Kraft. As if that wasn’t confusing enough, Milka is currently manufactured in Germany, Austria, Serbia, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Romani, Brazil, Poland, Ukraine, and a couple of other countries. We have decided to dub it a German brand because that is where the company’s famed originated and lasted the longest. Milka produces a variety of confectionery items and their chocolate Milka bar comes in an array of flavors including the one under review tonight, the Milka Oreo Chocolate. Let’s take a closer look. Our sample of the Milka Oreo Chocolate Bar is rather large and weights in at 100 grams. This is much larger than a typical American Chocolate Bar but we are very aware that Milka comes in several larger versions than this. The packaging is their trademark purple, has their mascot the purple cow, and has a photo of two chocolate pieces and an Oreo cookie with s splash of milk. Overall we rather enjoy the presentation of this snack. Let’s see if we will enjoy how it tastes! To be honest we have been dying to try this German chocolate bar. We imported a few cases directly from Germany and have sold most of them. We had to move this review up the list before we sold out. A side note, the US version of Milka (found in select stores) is not at all the same and is nowhere the same quality. If you take your chocolate seriously do not make the mistake of confusing the two. Now that is out of the way, the Milka Oreo Chocolate Bar is phenomenal! The outer shell chocolate is soft, sweet, and decadent. The interior is powerful, creamy, and provides that trademark Oreo cookie crunch. Combined they make one of our favorite chocolate bars from anywhere in the world! Now that we’ve officially endorsed the Milka Oreo Chocolate Bar we advise you hurry and purchase one of your own. We carry several versions of both the American and German Milka Bars in our international snack store and encourage you to browse our full selection of German Chocolate Bars. If you’d like to be notified as we expand our online candy store we advise you to leave your details to the right, or if you are on a smart phone below. Keep on snacking world! At World of Snacks we are trekking across the globe to locate the very best snacks in the world. Why are we searching out the best international cookies, cakes, chips, candies, and gummis? Our family comes from a mix of nationalities and many of these snacks have special meanings to us. We wanted to share these snacks with our American born son and learn about other countries at the same time. Although we initially started out as just a blog, this year we expanded to include aninternational snack store. We launched with British Snacks, the country I was born in. Each month this year we will expand to include a new country and their best snacks. Last month we added German Snacks. Connecting with others from my childhood I was eager to share some of the snacks we encountered with others that grew up in similar regions of the world that are now located here in the US. Something we ran into is some of the authentic snacks we import have American counterparts. Although at times they may seem similar, they are in fact different. We thought it would be fun to compare the counterparts and we did so earlier this year with our review of the American KitKat vs British KitKat. They were very different, and the results of our blind taste test were interesting. Today we are conducting another blind taste test. We are comparing the Haribo Happy Original Cola from Germany and the Haribo Happy Cola Gummi Candy made for the American market. Both appear similar, and at first glance may even seem identical. However, many of our faithful snack enthusiast fans know they are two completely different snacks. To set the premise of our test, our panel consist of 6 adult US males aged 25-35 and 3 US children aged 5-11. Now you know the details, let’s compare German Happy Cola vs American Happy Cola! Let’s get right to it. Our panel strongly preferred the American Hairbo Happy Cola Gummi Candy over the German Happy Cola Gummis. Two adults and one child preferred the German Happy Cola, the rest preferred the other. Notes from our reviewers state the texture, color, and flavor are superior in the gummis made for the US market. This was a big surprise for me. I absolutely preferred the original German version, but I did grow up eating European snacks. So why is there a difference? After spending sometime translating the ingredients, we found they are very similar and only one major ingredient change. Corn syrup in the US version and glucose syrup in the German! Without getting into too much of the particulars, corn syrup is a glucose syrup but glucose syrup is not necessarily corn syrup. European glucose syrup is much thicker, making the German Haribo Happy Cola gummies noticeably chewier, too chewy for some. The other noticeable ingredient change is the American gummis contain coconut oil, rounding out the cola flavor and making it sweeter. Although my testers leaned toward the American Happy Cola Gummi Candy, I still know in my heart the original is better. I imagine people who knew the original first may agree. We actually sell both version in our selection of German Candy Online. We’d love to hear from you which you prefer! If you are interested in keeping up with our additions to our candy store and be notified of special offers be sure to leave your details to the right. Keep on snacking world! World of Snacks is on a mission to locate the very best snacks from around the world! We have sampled tasty treats from 31 different countries and each month this year we plan to expand our international snack store to include a new country and their sweet and salty snacks we discover. For March we welcome Germany! Today we are officially opening our online German Snacks store. So for our blog post today we felt it would be fitting to include one of the newly added foreign snack items for sale. This featured item is one of several we have included produced by Kinder. I personally first encountered Kinder as a child living in England. My father wanted to surprise me and came home with a fitting chocolate treat called the Kinder Surprise. One day we hope to be able to offer the Kinder Surprise for sale, but right now it’s not allowed in the USA. Why you ask? Inside the chocolate egg is a small toy, full of small pieces. As you can imagine, they are slightly dangerous. Never the less, we fell in love. So over the past year we have tracked down many of the snack offered by Kinder and now we have a whole selection of our new favorite snacks! Our review today is of a snack that is completely new to us. We are reviewing the Kinder Delice. Most of the Kinder snack items we have recently encountered are a milky chocolate based treats. This however, is a cake! We didn’t realize it until we began our review and we were pleasantly surprised. Due to perishability; we do not get to review too many cakes from around the world. The last cake we reviewed was the Balconi Tiramisu from Italy, and it was awesome! Do these smaller individually wrapped cakes from Kinder compare? Let’s get onto our taste test and see. We can tell you for certain this treat is not a tiramisu. That being said, we love the Kinder Delice! This consist of a pair soft chocolate sponge cakes, a creamy milk layer, and a milk chocolate shell that has just the right amount of firmness. This snacks tastes like an American Little Debbie cake made for adults, and with much better ingredients. All our taste testers agree, the Kinder Delice Cocoa is a fantastic snack that we recommend to adults and children alike. If you’ve followed our blog you know we generally close with a determination if we will or will not feature the reviewed item in our international snack store. This article is different, you can buy the Kinder Delice online right this second. So what are you waiting for? Check out our brand new selection of German Snacks! P.S. We know that Kinder is owned by the Italian Snack company Ferrero and plan to host their snacks in our Italian inventory when it is added to our international snack store. The name Kinder is actually German and the following in Germany is very significant and many falsely believe that Kinder is a German Company. For usability we will offer Kinder as a German Snack and an Italian Snack at a later date. In just a few days we will be expanding our international snack store to include snacks from Germany. German snacks will join our current line up that includes both American and British Snacks. Each month this year, we will add a new country and their best cookies, cakes, candies, chips, and chocolates. The purpose of our foreign snack blog it to document and review snacks that we are considering for inventory. One German snack company we are definitely going to stock items from is Bahlsen. Bahlsen is a European snack manufacture that has specialized in the production of sweet cakes and biscuits for over 100 years! Still family owned, this long time German favorite brand now exports their cookies and cakes to over 80 countries! In the United States their brand is offered at a few select grocers but is still not a staple everywhere. Today we are going to look at one of their seasonal items, the Bahlsen Gingerbread Assortment. Two weeks ago we took a look at another German Gingerbread, the Wicklein Brown Gingerbread, which we enjoyed. From our research of that sweet treat we come to realize the Germans take their Gingerbread seriously, and have for quite some time. Unlike our last reviewed item, which was more of a cake, this snack is an assortment of Gingerbread cookies. Our sample from Bahlsen is a large blue bag weighing in at 300 grams. The cookies presented on the front of the bag are festive and include a star, bell, tree, and circle shape. There may be other cookies shapes in the assortment, but to be honest they are not very easy to see what they are. I think we did see a rocking horse as well. But this is a taste test, so let’s get on with it! Well, the Bahlsen Gingerbread Cookie Assortment tastes exactly as we expected, like gingerbread! They are not crunchy like a typical American cookie, and they are not cake-like either. They are a soft cookie of sorts. Some are frosted, and others are not. They all taste a little waxy and hint towards a glazed donut effect. We found the donut effect present in the Wicklein version as well. Overall they are pleasant, and we imagine they’d make a nice Christmas time snack. Will World of Snacks offer the Bahlsen Gingerbread Assortment in our inventory of German Snacks set to launch early in March? No, we may offer it near the holidays, but we think the flavor is two festive focused to be a year round offering. We will however include other Bahlsen Cookies; in fact you can even buy the Bahlsen Hannover Waffeln online right now! If you’d like to be notified as we add new snacks and be included in special promotions be sure to leave your details to the right. Keep on snacking world! We created our international snack blog so we could spend time taking an in-depth look at the best snacks from around the world. So far we have trekked though 31 different countries and reviewed their best chocolates, chips, cookies, candies, and cakes. We’ve started to offer some of these delicious foreign snacks in our international snack store. Each month this year we are expanding our store to include a new country and their best snacks. So far we’ve included British Snacks and American Snacks. Next month we will add German Snacks for sale online. Today we are taking a look at a German Snack that will be included in our online store. The snack under review today is the Kinder Bueno White. We absolutely love the Kinder brand and I personally have enjoyed their treats since I first sample the Kinder Surprise as a child living in Europe. Unfortunately the Kinder Surprise is not allowed in the US, so we keep trying to fill this void with other Kinder Brand Snacks. Not too long ago we did a review of the Kinder Hippo Biscuits. As you can imagine, we loved them too! Will the Kinder Bueno White keep us happy? Let’s take a closer look to find out.
We really had high expectations for the Kidner Buneo White Chocolate, although none of the tasters have previously sampled this chocolate bar. We also did not really understand, it’s not actually a chocolate bar. It’s wafer based, and is more of a mix of a chocolate bar and a crunchy cookie. The texture and taste did not let us down. It’s so crunchy, but not too crunchy. It’s flakey as well. The nut cream filling is phenomenal! The Kinder Bueno White Choclate is pleasant, not to sweet, and comes together to create a very well rounded snack. There simply is nothing in the US to compare, and that’s probably why we are in business! Typically we end our review with a decision if we will stock the featured snack in our international snack store. This review is different. Even though our German Snack store is not officially launched, you can buy the Kinder Bueno White Chocolate Online right now! We have a sneak preview of just a few German Snacks until our store officially opens. If you are searching for German snacks or just interested in knowing when we add other countries, be sure to leave your details to the right. Keep on snacking world! At World of Snacks we are getting ready to expand our international snack store to include snacks from Germany. Each month this year we are adding a new country and their best cookies, cakes, chocolates, and candies to our inventory. So far this year we’ve launched our British Snack Shop and our American Snack Store. Although most of our German Snacks are on the way to our Florida headquarters we are still searching for additional items to include in our selection of German Snacks online. The snack we are reviewing today is Wicklein Brown Gingerbread (Lebkuchen). Wicklein is the oldest snack company we have encountered from anywhere in the world, they have traced their origins as far back as 1615! This German snack company has seen a lot change over the years, and even had to rebuild their factories after World War II. One thing has remained the same through out their expanded history; they’ve always made gingerbread! So lets take a look at Wicklen’s Lebkuchen. From our research and this festive packaging, we have been able to deduce that this is a German Christmas snack. Very fitting, since it is gingerbread- or is it? Although Leckuchen is similar to gingerbread, it’s actually subtly different, and very old as well. German monks invented this snack back in the 13th century! Well, we hope our sample is a little fresher. Overall the packaging is fun, it depicts a traditional German home and includes images of children playing in the snow, a snow covered Christmas-like tree, and a snowman. Now we are in the holiday spirit, let’s give these heart-shaped cookies a taste.
Will World of Snacks offer the Wicklein Brown Gingerbread (Lebkuchen) for sale online when Germany is added to our inventory? The answer is no. We enjoyed the snack, but it’s a seasonal item and our German Snacks will be offered starting in the early spring. We will however consider the Wicklein Lebkuchen on a limited run around the holidays. If you are searching for German snacks for sale in the US (with worldwide shipping) we invite you to leave your details to the right. We will send you a special offer when our full inventory is online. Keep on snacking world! |
