Brown Sugar Japanese Kit Kats

World of Snacks is circling the globe sampling the very best treats from each country, and although we've stopped in Japan twice this year we are back and ready to look at another Japanese snack.  So far we covered many countries and it seems that the county we are most excited about is Japan.  This Asian country seems to have the biggest variety of unique and sometime unusual flavors of snacks from brands we are very familiar with in the United States.   There may be not better example than Kit Kat.
Brown Sugar Kit Kat
So far we have reviewed one other Kit Kat from Japan, and apparently there are only 198 more varieties to go.  Since the year 2000 Kit Kat has literally released 200 different flavors of Kit Kat in Japan, with many of them being limited editions.  Last time we took a look at the Black Kit Kat, better known as Otona no Amasa.  Today we are sampling the Brown Sugar Kit Kat, or more formally known as Tokyo Nihonhashi Kuromitsu.

With Kit Kat being a house hold name through out the world there is really no reason to dive into it's history like we generally do for our international snack reviews.  With so much mystery and anticipation we will jump right into our taste test of the Brown Sugar Kit Kat from Japan.
To be honest to put the flavor into words is very challenging.  We've never come in contact with Japense Brown Sugar Kit Kats or anything that taste's even remotely similar.
Tokyo Nihonhashi Kuromitsu Kit Kat
I have to omit when we choose the Japanese Brown Sugar Kit Kat for our snack review tonight, we had know idea what flavor we were sampling.  None of us can read Japanese!  That adds to the excitement and makes it challenging to determine exactly what we are sampling. Our test panel today consisted of three members, and none of them guessed the flavor to be brown sugar.   After doing some research it appears there are many types of brown sugar, and the flavor this Japanese Kit Kat was shooting for was not typical American brown sugar.  In fact the flavor was closer to a tapioca with a hint of fruit.  Well, that was one of the descriptions.  To be honest to put the flavor into words is very challenging.  We've never come in contact with Japense Brown Sugar Kit Kats or anything that taste's even remotely similar.  The white chocolate is rich and very sweet, and even though there is a hint of fruit, no one from our panel could determine which type of fruit.

Will you be able to buy the Brown Sugar Kit Kat and other Kit Kats from Japan on World of Snacks when our international snack store launches later this year?  You bet you will!  Even though we can't put the flavor of the Tokyo Nihonhashi Kuromitsu into words, you have to try this one for yourself!  Locating all the flavors and finding them at a reasonable price has been a task, but not worry World of Snacks will sell Japanese Kit Kats in the US and ship through out the world.  To be invited to the launch of our international snacks store be sure to leave your information to the right.
