Hula Hoops Salt & Vinegar Flavor Potato Rings

We are only 8 days away from the launch of our international snack store.  Starting January 1st you will be able to buy 33 of the top British Snacks online and have them shipped from here in the US to you, no matter where you live!  Every month throughout 2014 we will add a new country and their best cookies, cakes, chips, chocolates, and sweets to our inventory.  In anticipation of our selection of snacks from England we are reviewing a new British Snack every singe day this month.  Our snack under review today is the Hula Hoops Salt & Vinegar Flavor Potato Rings.

If you are one of our many avid snack blog followers you will remember we took a look at the Hula Hoops Original Potato Rings just last week.  Our review for the previous flavor of Hula Hoops was only lukewarm.  We enjoyed the fun shape but everything else failed to “wow” us.  Let’s see if the Salt & Vinegar Hula Hoops are any better.

The Hula Hoops Salt & Vinegar Flavor Potato Rings come in a cool blue bag and are topped with a yellow bar that reads “Now with 25% Extra.”  Underneath, the Hula Hoops logo, which is a fun round object with red writing.  Below “Salt & Vinegar Flavour Potato Rings.”  Lastly, “no artificial flavours, no MSG, and made with 100% Sunflower Oil.”  The Sunflower Oil seems to be a big thing with British crisps.  Well, that’s enough talk about how this snack from the UK looks, let’s move onto the taste test.

The smell from the freshly opened bag is pleasant, not too overpowering, but very intriguing.  The name Hula Hoops comes from the shape.  This potato snack is a thick crunchy circle.  We really do mean crunchy too, the thinness makes the crunch very prevalent.  Just like the aroma, the snack is not too overpowering.  The salt and vinegar flavor is pleasant, and from past experiences it’s very mild in comparison to other salt and vinegar chips, both here in the US and in the UK.  Overall, we really like the Hula Hoops Salt & Vinegar Flavor Potato Rings!  Looking back, the only thing the Original Flavor Hula Hoops was missing was really just flavor.
