Mega Monster Munch Pickled Onion

We are snacking our way all through England all month long.  Every day in December we are reviewing a British Snack that you will be able to buy from our international snack store that is launching on January 1st.  We are starting with England and each month following we will add a new country and their foreign snacks to our inventory.   The British Snacks under review today is one I am personally fond of since I loved this English Crips flavor as a child when I lived in the UK.  Let’s take a look at Mega Monster Munch Pickled Onion.

This small bag of crisps (or chips) is a unique shade of purple and is centered with a one-eyed yellow monster that has four paw or claw shaped snacks in his mouth.  The top corner has “new” that has been crossed out and replaced with “old!”.  Under that test reads, “bigger like they used to be.”  Open opening the Mega Monster Munch Pickled Onion I was indeed surprised by the large shaped crisp.  I do not remember how big they originally were or know when the change occurred, but these chips are large and there are only a handful in the bag.  Now that we know what they look like, lets get on to our taste-test of Mega Monster Munch Pickled Onion Flavor.

Upon first whiff this British Snack took me back. This unique flavor scent is powerful and I am not sure what Pickled Onions smells like, but Mega Monster Munch must be close.  The chip texture is similar to a thick American Funyuns.  If you have never sampled this American Snack don’t worry, it will be included in our US inventory starting on February 1st.    The initial burst of flavor from Pickled Onion Monster Munch is overwhelming.  It is strong and you almost only taste the pickle.  Then the chip transforms into a smoother onion after taste.  A few of our taste testers were apprehensive to try this UK snack but ultimately it won them all over.   One thing is for certain, we have not encountered any snack from anywhere in the world that is similar to Mega Monster Munch Pickled Onion.
