Business is booming at World of Snacks, which unfortunately has cut into our frequency on our blog post. Not to worry, if we are not blogging that means we are adding new and incredible snacks from around the world to our store! On occasion a few people in the snack industry reach out to us and ask us to review their products. We love doing it and welcome the opportunity to try something delicious. Our most recent contact was from Michael Strollo, the friendly owner of Strollo’s Homemade Beef Jerky. Their domestic snack isn’t just any ole’ beef jerky – it’s truly gourmet, preservative free, and made with all natural USDA certified beef. Simple ingredients, minimally processed, and zero sugar added… what else do you need to know? Strollo’s Jerky comes in four flavors that include garlic, hot garlic, mild, and hot. Tonight we are reviewing Strollo’s Garlic and Hot flavors. Let’s take a closer look. We like the packaging, like the snack itself it’s simple, straight forward, and done right. It’s foiled backed with a clear window on the front. There’s a sticker, which tells you exactly what you need to know, and they have a fun logo of a cow choking a guy with the slogan “Our Meat Can’t Be Beat” underneath. Let’s rip these open and see if it can be beat? Our first sample was the Strollo’s Garlic Jerky. It’s tender, but no real wow factor at first. However, the more we ate, the more we enjoyed it. We then went over to the Hot flavor, which most of our testers are heat seekers. Wow, this snack is spicy, and we wouldn’t have it any other way. Strangely enough, when we went back to the Garlic Jerky after sampling the Hot flavor, we liked it even more. The spice after burn some how turned up the garlic flavor. Both are fantastic examples of fine jerky and we recommend you pick up a few packs if you get a chance. Due to the strong international aspect of our business and the difficulty with shipping meat to many countries, World of Snacks will not offer Strollo’s Homemade Beef Jerky for sale in our international snack store. We hope it changes in the future because we already craving more!

World of Snacks offers the best candy, cookies, cakes, chocolates, and chips from around the world. Currently we offer snacks from 9 countries with plans to add our 10th country next month. One of our best-selling categories is Korean Chips. We’ve done so well with chips from Korea that we are having a hard time keeping them in stock. Never-the-less we wanted to take time to highlight 3 of our best-selling Korean Chips here on our international snack blog. So in no particular order, they are as follows. Nongshim Sweet Potato Snack : Crispy fired sweet potato in french fry shaped chips, this Korean chip is salty with just enough sweetness to complete the flavor. Nongshim Honey Twist: Covered in Acasia honey, these twisty Korean chips, crunchy, sweet, and fun to eat! With just one bite you will be hooked for life! Nongshim Tako Chips: Round, cute, and octopus shaped - Nongshim Tako Chips use to be falsely advertised as they contain no real octopus. Now they are dubbed "seafood flavor" and that is correct being they are made of fish and offer a truly fishy flavor. Well there you have it. These are just a few of our best-sellers, for our full line visit our Koren Chips page in our store. We are always adding new snacks, so if we missed your favorite be sure to let us know below.
Tonight is a milestone snack review for us. After this post, World of Snacks will have reviewed treats from 40 countries! Recently Black Bird Specialties asked us if we’d be willing to sample some products from a brand called Kucker, and of course we said yes. When we found out their snacks are from Ecuador we got even more excited. So let’s take a closer look at our snacks under review. Our sample consists of 5 separate flavors of Kucker Plantain Chips, which appears to be all of their products. They boast that their chips are made from export quality Ecuadorian plantains, which we are guessing are the choice plantains? They also boast their products will help maintain a healthy lifestyle. Lastly, they are Gluten-Free, Dairy-Free, Cholesterol-Free, Kosher, and Non-GMO. Now you know a little about Kucker, let’s get on with the taste test! Up first, Kucker Naturally Sweet Plantain Chips. These are what we think of first when plantain chips come to mind. They are just sweet enough, like a ripe plantain should taste. Crunchy and enjoyable, but also very basic. Let’s move on and try something a little more exciting. Next up, Kucker Tropical Plantain Chips. From the tastefully designed packaging we found out that the “tropical” means Passion Fruit and Mango. This flavor was familiar to me personally but I am having a hard time placing it. One of our testers remarked that is tastes how potpourri smells. Needless to say, they are fruity and a tad bit over-powering. However, most of our tasters enjoyed them and said they would eat them again. Kucker Red Fruits Plantain Chips instantly reminded me of one of my favorite childhood cereal. They taste oddly familiar to Cap’n Crunch Berries, which are awesome. This flavor was several of our testers favorites. They are still fruity, but much less overpowering then the Tropical version. The Red Fruits are Raspberry and Cranberry, and they blend well together. Moving away from the sweeter flavors, our next sample is Kucker Salty Plantain Chips. These are the ideal substitute for a potato chip. Less greasy, a better texture, and more enjoyable. The salt is mild but complements the fruit chip itself. Last but not least, my personal favorite – Kucker Jalapeno-Lemon Plantain Chips. I’m not sure if it’s our recent addiction to Takis Nitro Habenero Lime, but we really are enjoying the spicy and citrusy snacks. Unlike the Takis, this snack is better for you, and much less spicy. I wish the jalapeno was stronger but really enjoyed this flavor combination non-the-less. There you have it. World of Snacks has now reviewed snacks from 40 countries! Typically we close our articles with a determination if we will offer the reviewed snack for sale. At the moment we do not have plans to include Kucker Plantain Chips in our inventory. We have a feeling they are only made for export and our focus is on authentic classic snacks that are enjoyed in their own respective countries. That doesn’t mean we will not carry them in the future. They are a great product. As always, keep on snacking world!
Here are at World of Snacks we’ve made a career out of exploring sweet and salty treats from around the world. We’ve spend a few years writing about our exploration of foreign snacks and a nearly a year and a half ago we started offering our favorites for sale in our international snack store. We use our snack blog to highlight our travels through flavor and tonight we are featuring a treat that is has recently been added to our inventory of Filipino Snacks. Years ago when we came up with the idea for World of Snacks we polled our international friends and asked them their favorites. One snack that was actually brought to us by a friend was SkyFlakes Crackers. When she gave us the snack we were shocked that salted crackers are even considered a snack in the Philippines. Later when we started selling Filipino Snacks Online we discovered SkyFlakes Chocolate, and started to understand the fixation with crackers as a snack. It’s been a steady seller so when we discovered SkyFlakes Condensada we couldn’t wait to try them!
Typically our review panel consists of 3-10 reviewers. For this SkyFlakes Condensada review I decided to go it on my own. I am the only one in our typical group of testers who was actually familiar with the product. So here is a rare personal review for your consumption. First impression- why would anyone want three layers of crackers? However, after the second bite the crackers subsided and the Condensada prevailed. The crackers themselves are buttery and better than your normal American Saltines. The condensed milk center offers just a hint of sweetness and left me wanting more. Maybe it’s the abundance that was enjoyed during my childhood? Nah, it needs more sweetness! Offering only a mild sweetness is typical for a Filipino Snack so overall I think the SkyFlakes Condensada held up to my personal expectations and I think it’s a decent overall snack. Well there you have it. I’d love for you to buy SkyFlakes Condensada and have you come back to leave your own personal review below. Heck, I’ll even send you some free snacks on your second purchased if you do. As always, keep on snacking world!
We created our international snack blog a few years back as a place to highlight our exploration of the best snacks from around the world. We’ve explored many different cultures and flavors as we collected these foreign snacks to offer for sale here in our International Snack Store. We know we are not the only company exploring snacks from around the world and recently another group with an affinity for great snacks reached out to us and provided a few samples for our team to review. This is how we discovered the self-proclaimed "Troublemakers of Taste", also known as the Belgian Boys. Personally I’ve spent time near Belgium in Holland. This meant I was familiar with the three snacks they sent, which includes their Choco Stix, Mini Stroopwafels, and Mini Choco Stroopwafels. What I wasn’t familiar with was their brand. Once the package arrived we immediately wanted to become more familiar with the Belgian Boys. Their product packaging is stunning and perfectly presented. As we began our preliminary research we encountered additional great design work. Their website is fun, playful, and stylish. The also tell a story of the guys on the box, Chubby & Skinny. Now we could do a whole article on why we love the product presentation and back-story, but this blog is about snacks. So on with the taste test! The first item our team decided to try was Belgian Boys Mini Choco Stroopwafels. Why did we start here? Because who can resist a chocolate covered stoopwafel? If you are not familiar with a stroopwafel, it’s two layers of waffle-ish dough with a thin layer of caramel syrup in the middle. This is a common snack in both Belgium and Holland. So how does the Belgian Boys rendition of this snack stack up against others? It surpasses them! This unique treat is phenomenal. The real Belgian Callebaut chocolate coating is divine and the stroopwafel inside is perfect. There is a soft crunch and the firm caramel center is the ideal consistency. The next snack we tried was the Belgian Boys Mini Stroopwafel. Not surprisingly, it’s the same snack as above minus the chocolate coating. Of course we loved it, but we did miss the chocolate. It’s a classic and truly enjoyable. Something we didn’t mention above was their size. Being mini and individually wrapped made them easy to eat and easy to share. Everyone we gave one to was thankful and enjoyed them as well. The last snack we sampled was the Belgian Boys Choco Stix. Another awesome snack! These crisp cookies are butter finger biscuits filled with a generous portion of Belgian Callebaut chocolate. Our sample package came with 3 packs of 6 biscuits. We really enjoyed this treat and think it’s an ideal pairing for our morning coffee. So the Troublemakers of Taste went 3 for 3! From the presentation, to the story, and the snacks themselves- everything was top-notch and surpassed our expectations. Something we didn’t mention yet was their price point, which we feel is very reasonable considering the quality of the items. Currently we do not offer the Belgian Boys snack line for sale in our international snack store. Right now we are focusing on traditional foreign snacks by brands people already know and love. We know the Belgium Boys will quickly captivate many so hopefully in the future we will include their snacks for sale. Until then you can buy their snacks directly from them at belgianboys.com.
It’s been a few weeks since we’ve last reviewed a snack here on our international snack blog. That’s good news for you. When we are not blogging that means we are spending our time adding new snacks to our foreign snack store! We’ve added a ton of new snacks from all around the world and tonight we are highlighting one of our newest. Let’s take a look at the Elvan Express Wafer Hazelnut Cream. Recently we’ve added an assortment of snacks from Turkey and many are produced by Elvan. This Turkish snack group started as a small candy store in 1952. Today they are one of Turkey’s biggest snack producers and have 2 factories employing more than 1500 workers! Let’s take a closer look at their Express Wafer Hazelnut Cream! Our candy under review comes in a shinny red wrapper. Of course it has the Elvan logo and underneath in bubbly letters it reads, “Express” followed by “wafer”. Below that, “Hazelnut Cream.” From first glance we thought it was a chocolate bar, but after picking up, we realized this snack is far too light to be made primarily of chocolate. Let’s rip this snack open and see exactly what it is and what it tastes like. Onto the review! Once out of the wrapper it still appeared to be a chocolate bar. However after we cracked it open we saw that it’s more of a wafer cookie covered in chocolate. The wafer is filled with air and just enough hazelnut cream. The chocolate is slightly bitter yet very satisfying. The overall snack is light and airy. We really enjoyed the Express Wafer Hazelnut Cream. If you want to review the Express Wafer Hazelnut Cream for yourself you can order online now! World of Snacks offers this and many of the best snacks from Turkey for sale online here in the US with international shipping to everywhere! If you’ve tried this chocolate bar/cookie before we’d love to hear your opinion below. As always, keep on snacking world!
World of Snacks is now in it’s third year of business! Our first year we spent a ton of time tracking down and reviewing the best snacks in the world here on our international snack blog. Our second year we added our international snack store and a tasty snacks from a total of 9 countries. So what do we have in store for you this year? Well we plan to continue our exploration of snacks and grow our inventory to include at least another 3 countries. However tonight we are reviewing a treat that’s made here in good ole’ USA.
Our snack under review comes in a resealable 3.5oz bag. The packaging is classy and is mostly a cream color with black and gold trim. The logo up top has a fun cartoon version of the company’s founder Joe himself! Of course it reads,” Gourmet Beef Jerky Prime Rib Flavor” followed by “Thin Slice of Real Beef Seasoned In Our Special Sauce.” Along the bottom the package reads” The Ultimate Snacks- Real Steak!” Well is this the ultimate snack? Let’s get onto our taste test and find out! Our fist impression upon opening the bag? Well it looks and smells like beef jerky. However upon further inspection we noticed the pieces are large, flat, and contain a minimal amount of fat. The shape plays a critical role in the sampling. Less quality beef jerky can be overly chewy and hard to eat. Wild Joe’s is thin, slightly crunchy, and a pleasure to eat. In addition to the ideal consistency, the flavor is rich, smoky, and slightly salty. One of the female testers on tonight’s panel mentioned it taste’s a little to like meat? Well, isn’t that a good thing? Overall everyone was pleased and enjoyed the snack. Will World of Snacks offer Wild Joe’s Gourmet Beef Jerky Prime Rib Flavor? Not at the moment. Because we specialize in delivering snacks all across the globe we have to work with strict importing rules in many countries. Importing meat into some countries can be a little tricky. So for now we are not able to add this tasty snack to our inventory. However if we’ve talked you into trying it, you’ll be glad to know you can find it on their website at Wild Joe's Beef Jerky. Looking for snacks that are a little less healthy? Take a look at our full inventory in our International Snack Store.
Our business is booming and as fast as we can get some of our snacks in they sell out! Although our sales are strong with all our featured countries one of the best selling is our Korean Snacks. We’ve just restocked our inventory and we are adding a few more of our favorites. One snack from Korea that we will be adding soon is the Kook Hee Biscuit Peanut Flavor. Take a second and sound out the brand name. It’s pretty funny! Let’s take a closer look. Although the name is humorous the packaging is tasteful. Our sample pack contains four cookie sandwiches in a matte yellow wrapper. In the upper left corner there appears to be a “C” followed by Natural Story. This may be the brand but we were not able to find anything on them. There is also some blue Korean text written over two intricately patterned cookie sandwiches. Now we know how they look, let see how they taste! To be honest we were not too excited about trying out some peanut butter sandwich cookies. In the US we have Nutter Butters, and they are awesome. How could Kook Hee Biscuit Peanut Flavor be any better? Well, they are not, but we still really liked them. We were hoping for something boldly different than a typical peanut butter cookies sandwich and that is exactly what we got. The difference is in the cookie (or biscuit depending on where you are from). It ridiculously soft and nearly dissolves in your mouth. The peanut butter filling though is very scarce and left us wanting more. The Kook Hee Biscuit Peanut Flavor will be available for purchase online in our international snack store very soon. Until then take time exploring all our Korean Snacks. If you see something you like do not hesitate on ordering, not much is lasting long! As always, keep on snacking world!
World of Snacks currently offers the best snacks for sale online from 8 different countries with plans to add several more countries and many new snacks in the very near future. Currently some of our best selling items are Snacks from Korea. For this reason we are searching for additional Korean Snacks to add to our inventory. Tonight our international snack blog features a review of one item we are thinking about adding to our store. A company called Lotte produces the snack under review. We are very familiar with this multinational food producer and currently offer several of their snack items for sale in our international snack store. With headquarters in both South Korea and Japan they are a large company that produces many loved Asian Snacks and dabbles in many other lines of work including hotels, electronics, entertainment, and nearly anything you can think of. With everything they are involved in we sure are glad they still have time to make great snacks. The snack under review tonight is the Lotte Binch. Prior to opening our sample of the Lotte Binch Premium Chocolate Biscuits we did not know what to expect. First off the only English on the package reads “Binch” and there is a Lotte logo in the upper right corner. The rest of the text on the box is in Korean. The photos show cookies with chocolate on one side and a cracker biscuit on the other. So I guess we did know we were reviewing a cookie, but we definitely didn’t know they were individually wrapped in a rich matte paper with gold foil that really made us think we were in for a treat. So now we know how they look, let’s see how the Lotte Binch Biscuits taste! We’ve been fortunate enough to review cookies from all over the world. It’s rare we review a biscuit that we are unfamiliar with, so the chance to review Lotte Binch really did excite us. However the biscuit side of this snack is familiar to one of our team members. She grew up in Asia and said the Lotte Biscuit was a staple in her house and often paired with tea. The other reviewers have yet to try and Lotte Biscuits. So what did our team at World of Snacks think? We loved it! Every tester involved was pleased with the Lotte Binch and went back for more. The biscuit is crunchy, crispy, and slightly sweet. The chocolate is rich, creamy, and firm. It may be the best chocolate we have yet to sample out of Korea. This cookie is definitely one of our favorites from Asia. So will World of Snacks offer Lotte Binch Premium Chocolate Biscuits for sale online? Absolutely! In just a few days we will update our selection of Korean Biscuits to include this great snack! As long as Korean Snacks continue to sell well we will continue to expand our inventory.
World of Snacks is approaching it’s third year in business. So far we’ve been fortunate enough to review the best cookies, cakes, candies, chips, and chocolate from around the world. Our international snack blog has taken us through 38 countries so finding snacks from new countries to sample always excites us! Tonight we are reviewing our very first snacks from Croatia! Our Croatian snack under review comes from a long-standing company called Kraš. This confectionery company claims to be the oldest surviving chocolate manufacturer in southeastern Europe. We are not sure if it’s true, but we do know that Kraš (formerly Union) got it’s start in 1911 and today they are the second largest candy manufacture in Croatia. Our review is of the Kraš Bananko. Let’s take a closer look. This snack is interesting looking and from the packaging it looks tasty. The Kraš logo is a gold seal stamped in chocolate on the left of the package. The right shows a banana with a chocolatey Bananko logo. After that is a sticker looking graphic that oddly resembles the sticker that comes on most American Bananas. Once opened the snack looks like a very small chocolate covered banana. Now we know what the Bananko Chocolate Bar looks like, let’s see how it tastes! Not only do we get excited when we find a snack from a new country, we also love sampling new flavors and textures. Chocolate covered banana does not seem all that original, however finding a mass-produced chocolate bar like this is kind of rare. The taste is pretty straight forward and they get pretty close to what they are advertising. What caught us off guard was the marshmallow textured banana flavored filling in the center. It’s soft and slightly sponging like a normal marshmallow, however there’s also a strange crunch. At first we were surprised because the texture was similar to a marshmallow dropped in sand. However, the texture grew on us and combined with the flavor of the chocolate and banana we enjoyed the Bananko. So will World of Snacks offer the Kraš Bananko for sale in our international snack store? Not any time soon. This is our first candy bar from Croatia and to make it worth our time we would have to carry several others. Maybe as time progresses and we try more Croatian Snacks we will consider it. So that’s all for now. As always, keep snacking world!
